⭐ Updated Full ReviewCaptain Lex Rentals has been the most unsafe, unprofessional, and predatory rental experience I have ever encountered. Over months of renting from them, I was repeatedly given vehicles with maintenance lights on, ripped upholstery, stained seats, and bald tires. When tires were replaced, they were replaced with used, unsafe tires from a rundown local tire shop — never new, never reliable.Their vehicles are never provided with a full tank of gas, and multiple cars had major mechanical failures. One Hyundai Accent had a disconnected battery, leaving me stranded in the middle of I‑4. Another car had a severe oil leak, and another suffered a tire blowout. This was after being handed five different replacement vehicles, all with serious safety concerns.The company’s representative, Crisla, is consistently unprofessional, argumentative, and retaliatory. She has disabled vehicles remotely, even when payments were made, simply because she felt “rubbed the wrong way.” She adds extra fees, refuses any discounts, and offers no loyalty consideration — even after renting with them for over eight months and paying more than $15,000.Their insurance situation is extremely concerning. During a claim, Progressive refused to process the $1,000 deductible because Captain Lex failed to provide the required fleet insurance documentation. Progressive pushed back hard and would not move forward without proper proof of coverage. After repeated attempts to obtain the paperwork, Crisla provided nothing but resistance, and because the company could not produce the required documents, Progressive ultimately waived the deductible entirely. Their vehicles are also not compatible with Lyft, and they operate under an LLC with no DBPR license and multiple code enforcement violations.Despite charging double what their cars are worth, they offer no rent‑to‑own program, no support, and no compassion. They will watch you struggle financially — even to the point of not being able to eat or pay rent — and still demand every dollar.After everything — the unsafe vehicles, the mechanical failures, the financial exploitation, the retaliatory behavior, and the lack of proper licensing — I will be counter‑suing in small claims court for the money taken from me.Please choose another rental company. Captain Lex Rentals is unsafe, unprofessional, and predatory. I was left with nothing after investing thousands, and no one should have to go through what I did.
