I called Dave's Appliance Repair because my Samsung dishwasher stopped cleaning in mid-cycle and displayed a "LC" error code indicating a leak had been detected. Dave came out the next day and did a very thorough examination and even though he found water in the pan at the base of the dishwasher there didn't seem to be an identifiable source. Probably because of his 37 years of experience he decided to put in a detergent pod and run the dishwasher for a few minutes to see if there were too many suds being produced. It turns out that was exactly the issue and it was a result of a defective pod due to a manufacture error or an outdated pod. When I put a new pod into the machine and ran it the issue did not recur. Anyone should call him without reservation.We’d tried to diagnose the problem ourselves, but it seemed some parts for our 45 year old Whirlpool dryer were no longer available including some of the parts we suspected were bad. Not liking the reviews on modern dryers, we decided to call Dave out to make a determination. He made searches on his tablet and several calls to supply houses, but, unfortunately, the coils on our dryer weren’t replaceable and there was no new igniter assembly available, so we had to buy a new dryer. Fortunately, though, Dave was able to explain that the 6% 1-star reviews of the analog Whirlpool dryer I was considering for a replacement were almost certainly due to bad venting of dryer exhaust (crushed vent tubes, overly long runs or corrugated venting materials). That information alone was worth the diagnostic call, and let me feel good about buying a dryer that is basically the equivalent of our 45 year old workhorse that has the same dials and buttons (no expensive electronics that die prematurely). After having multiple issues with my GE dryer under warranty, & was told I’d have to wait nearly 4 weeks before it could be fixed I reached out to Dave, & his wife Jess. They were able to come out the same day for a temporary fix until all the parts came in. 12/27/22: Jeslin arranged Dave's appointment; he was at my place the next long rainy day to diagnose my electric dryer that quit working. In a brief amount of time he determined the appliance itself was just fine, that the problem he showed me was a faulty 4-prong 420V plug and wiring within the wall needing to be replaced. He said his appliance insurance repair coverage does not extend to electrical wiring external to the dryer, but he did write a detailed note explaining what parts and service would be required by a handyman or electrician. I took his list to ACE today and they were able to locate the repair parts and referred me to two of their trusted associates performing such appliance-related electrical work. Dave assured me my dryer was still in good working condition. He was friendly, professional, directly to the point in analyzing the situation, recommending the most reasonable remedy at a decent price for his diagnosis.
