Doug is second to none.He found what no other physio could.My back is my Achilles heel.Years of surgery in awkward positions have done some damage.He built strength and endurance rather than only offering relief.Indebted to him.

I went to visit Doug after developing some Achilles pain when running. He pinpointed the issue immediately, provided treatment and a plan to strengthen the area, as well as reassurance that training could continue. Worth every penny and would highly recommend.

I'm new to Altius Healthcare and have found them excellent to work with. Everyone has been incredibly friendly, takes the time to listen to any concerns you may have, and makes you feel part of the team from the very start.On my first visit, I had a sports massage with Tom and felt as though I could have flown home instead of walked! A week later, I had a follow-up appointment with Jack to make sure everything was progressing well.I've got one more visit planned in about a week's time at their Sale clinic, as the Hale clinic is understandably very popular. I've been told there's plenty of parking at Sale, so I'll report back after my next visit.Overall, a thoroughly deserved 5-star experience. Highly recommended.

We attended Altius in Hale for a cortisone injection in my wife,s left knee. We were astonished that it is not wheelchair friendly and not advertised as such. In fact they state that it was our prerogative to give the clinic advance warning of our requirements. Considering knee joint osteoarthritis can cause extreme pain and in my wife,s case confines her to a wheelchair it is not unreasonable to expect this venue to be wheelchair friendly. Access was only possible through an exercise gym which also came with access problems as there were several obstacles we had to negotiate. I had to lift the wheelchair several times to navigate the contortuous route which caused me to get an inguinal hernia which I am waiting for a consultant appointment. If there had been clients using the equipment then that would have been embarrassing! TheThe procedure was a complete waste of £570, time, and a lot aggravation.I have requested a refund but after 2 depositions no refund given. We should have gone to Bupa!

I was referred to Altius Healthcare for rehab on my shoulder, and I've had a really positive experience. Kate, the physio I've been seeing, is attentive and asks questions to fully understand the issue. Her assessments are thorough, and the exercises have been helping significantly with rebuilding strength in my shoulder. She takes the time during sessions to demonstrate the exercises properly, and follows up promptly with detailed notes, clear instructions, and helpful illustrations so I can continue them correctly at home. I found Altius in March '26 while stuck on the sofa, incapacitated by yet another back spasm. After 16 years of pain and 5 years of crippling nerve flare ups, I was exhausted, frustrated, and desperate for answers.A Google search led me to randomly booking in with Stuart for a Biomechanical Gait Analysis, and he urged me to see Doug right away. I was back in Hale 5 days later. Doug was the first person to understand the root cause of my pain and explain it in a way that finally made sense. He began breaking down the scar tissue in my back with deep tissue work. The first session was honestly quite brutal, but I put my trust in Doug, and the process, and true to his word the subsequent sessions got easier and easier.Nine weeks and 6 sessions later, the improvement is incredible. I feel like I’ve got my life back. I’ve already referred a friend, recommended to another, and I’ll keep recommending Altius to anyone who’ll listen.My only regret is not finding Altius sooner. I truly cannot thank Stuart and especially Doug enough.

Kate has been great throughout my recovery. She was very thorough during my initial assessment and took the time to understand my injury and goals. I came to her with a knee injury from running, and she has helped me gradually rebuild my strength and confidence at a pace that felt right for me. Max at Altius was very helpful with my son’s football injury. He was very experienced in working with young footballers and the types of injuries they can sustain due to bones growing. He was also great with my son and very personable. He completed a thorough examination and gave us some exercises to do that have helped to resolve the problem. I’d definitely bring my son back to Max in the future if anything were to come up again.
