I highly recommend working with this company!! Joel came out for an estimate so quickly and he spent a lot of time with me walking the property and listening to our ideas. Our dogs had completely destroyed the backyard and it was honestly embarrassing, but Joel understood and saw only the true potential of the space. Joel Torres (owner) did a fantastic job on correcting some issues we had from previous landscaper. He came out and gave us an estimate at no cost. His ideas and recommendations were spot on for our project. His team was very professional and cleaned up after the project was completed. We highly recommend Bolder Lawns.

We contacted Bolder Lawns after discovering a huge drainage issue at a house we just purchased. We learned after the first rainstorm in our new home that 25% of the yard went underwater and overflowed onto the sidewalk too. Joel was responsive to our outreach and quickly scheduled an on-site appointment. He immediately knew what do to, increasing the grade in certain areas of the lawn but also providing a “place” for the water to go. We sought a clean, natural aesthetic and he identified a swale of river rock to act as a holding tank for runoff. We decided to incorporate some privacy screening into this work too. He went forward with creating 3-D renderings that we reviewed everything over Zoom. After some adjustments we were able to put together a plan and bid. We tweaked the scope and bit and paid the deposit. I was apprehensive about putting down a chunk but we had a lot of plants and materials needs for the job. Scheduling was a little bumpy as Bolder Lawns is a smaller shop. They don’t do custom work like ours until the spring clean-ups are complete. We were also juggling spring weather and the timing of a new fence installation. We had hoped to get on the schedule sooner, but such is life. The final product was exactly as promised! Even in the heaviest storms, water runs to the designated locations in river rock and “disappears.” The sidewalk no longer floods either. We added a dozen junipers to help with screening a neighbor’s property and, once the trees reach their mature height, should do just the trick. We are very happy with the result and look forward to experiencing it each year as the lawn and trees mature. Overall, I recommend Bolder Lawns. To those reviews complaining about responsiveness or scheduling, realize that you are working with a smaller landscaping company. It’s not going to be fast, or possibly even that same week. But Joel had a lot of ideas and suggestions to help us personalize the landscaping. He is truly passionate about what he does and seeks to bring beauty into every environment he creates.

If you're looking for a landscaper/hardscaper that is honest and helpful Joel is your guy! I have used his lawn maintenance services for a few years now and he and his team keep my lawn well taken care of. When I had water issues (had basement flooding twice) he came out and after seeing how the water was coming into my yard and into the basement he was able to make a few changes and I haven't had an issue with water in my basement since. I also used Bolder Lawns when I wanted a brick patio. He worked with my budget (and he was able to offer financing, which I wasn't expecting) and used a cool technology program to help me visualize the final result. He was creative with ways to bring the costs down and the brick is excellent quality. The patio, gas fire pit and fountain truly transformed my backyard! I highly recommend him and his team.

We have a huge yard but we had a huge water issue. We were never able to use our backyard because it was always like a swamp. Our garage was always flooding too. Joel was able to install a draining system on both ends of our yard and grade our yard to fix the problem. Our grass is coming in nicely and with the rain last week we had no issues. They were super quick, honest and knowledgeable! We will be having them back to do a few other projects on our list. I know this doesn’t look like much now but once it all grows in we will finally have our nice yard back. This was a really big job as you can see and they finished in about two days.
