Earlier this year I was fortunate enough to come across a team of exceptional plumbers who provided outstanding service during a critical situation.There was a persistent leak in our upstairs kitchen window (a floor to ceiling louvered window) when it rained, which was impacting the downstairs bathroom ceiling. I called The Leak Detection Experts and Paul came out to have a look. He was very professional and knowledgable, gave us a quote and was able to answer all of our queries. His team displayed an excellent level of expertise, exhibiting a meticulous approach to identifying and resolving the issue. Milad and his team who were involved in the job, worked tirelessly for 2 days. The louvered window is such that there were many glass panels to remove. Because the space between the kitchen window and the boundary wall/ neighbours fence was minuscule the workers had to suspend themselves on the outside from the top floor ,to reseal the whole window. At times, the nature of leaks is such that they cannot all be identified, initially. It is a process of elimination. This was the case at my house. He returned a second time and identified further areas where the water was coming in from and again resealed the offending spots. And is returning for a third time to have a look at a small leak, at no extra cost. I would not hesitate to recommend this company and Milad to any of my family or friends. So here are my top 4 tips: 1. If you have an unusual high water bill and unsure if it is due to water leakage, ALWAYS ENQUIRY with Yarra Valley Water FIRST. They will investigate and confirm if the billing is correct for you. Then they will advise whether you need to engage plumber or detection specialist. 2. The leak detection specialists or plumbers most likely will NOT even tell you about tip one. Because you know, they are going lose 💰 and business. 3. As per advise from the Custom Service team at Yarra Water Valley, the average cost of water leakage detection service cost about $400. This place will charge you $1,000 + ( for a 90 minutes appointment). 4. Lastly, this business would tell you that if they don't find the source of leaking, they won't charge you anything. But be aware, they are always more incentivised to "find the leak" so they can charge customers. In my case, I entrusted this company to do their job. They somehow "found" a leak and it is somewhere we cannot access or see ( how convenient). Sadly, We later found out there wasn't any leak at all but Yarra Valley Water been over billing us. We are really shocked and upset by the level of professionalism of these people. All just to get paid that $1k dollar. If you are patient enough to read my review to here, I trust you are more informed to make a decision whether to hire this company or not. And if I have the choice again, I would say to them, HELL NO. Less
