We reached out as our new dog had very little recall and high prey drive. Helen was absolutely fab with her and us, giving us the skills to help keep her safe. She has really excelled in her recall, esp when she ran off from our house the other day and came back using the skills Helen taught us.Helen's communication is also 1st class, sending videos/info on what she had taught us when we met. I contacted John as I have a 4 year old french bulldog that I've had for 2 years and she is so reactive and aggressive to people and other dogs. I've tried other trainers but all they done was put a slip lead on her or they said spray her with water. John came to see her and showed me what to do and what I was doing wrong as I didn't realise I was making her worse. I know it will be challenging but with everything he has taught me after only 1 lesson I know I can help her.

We contacted John as our 4 1/2 year old Cockapoo had been snapping and showing signs of aggression for approx one year. She is very sensitive to loud noises especially fireworks. We were referred to a vet behaviourist by our vet. She was prescribed painkillers and possibly out of date training methods which we stopped after a while as we were not getting anywhere. John has completely changed our outlook on dog training by using positive reinforcement, and as our Lottie is treat orientated, has taken like a duck to water. We still have a way to go with training but after John's very knowledgeable advice and training techniques we are 100% sure we'll get there.I would recommend John to everyone who is concerned about their dogs behaviour. He really does understand the needs of our beloved pets. Thank you John

Our wee one year old Staffie was becoming reactive with other dogs and we wanted to make sure we were doing the right thing for her. Helen called us back and right away I knew we had someone with great knowledge and experience. Before our session she sent us lots of information and preparation tasks. During our session we started outside as she demonstrated and explained techniques, then observed and guided us. We then moved indoors and she spent a long time demonstrating and guiding us to communicate more effectively with Mabel. It was clear right away that the methodology was kind, intuitive and very effective. Helen’s empathy extended to us and our pup, giving us the confidence to build a lovely relationship. Helen has continued to stay in touch, sending information and asking how we are doing. I would highly recommend the Glasgow Dog Trainers as professional, humane and empathetic people. There were no harsh words, no painful tools and lots of understanding.

We began working with Helen when Nelson was just 12 weeks old, as we felt it was important to start his training early given how big he would eventually grow. Helen helped us establish structure and set good habits right from the beginning, making sure we put the right work into his development.She taught us how to help Nelson relax, so he can now settle himself both at home and when we take him out to cafés or bars. Helen also supported us in teaching him to walk nicely on the lead, develop a reliable recall, and even perform an emergency stop for situations where he might otherwise put himself in danger. We are now feeling confident going into Nelson's adolescence phase, that we have built a good skillset to help navigate hiim through.We would definitely recommend Helen for anyone with a new puppy looking for support in training or for older dogs looking to learn new tricks! I contacted Helen as I was having problems walking Bear who became aggressive and anxious as soon as he was on a lead and around other dogs. Although we have only had one session, I left feeling more confident and equipped with tools to walk Bear and deal with the situations that had previously distressed him. From our initial meeting Helen made me feel relaxed and for the first time in years I actually enjoyed walking my dog! Thank you!

We initially reached out as our dog had become really anxious at night time due to noise sensitivity, which was triggered by fireworks. Helen was great to work with and really took the time to understand our whippet. She provided us with the tools to help rebuild our dogs confidence which has made a massive difference already. We managed to make it through bonfire night without the usual panting and crying which felt like a massive milestone. Seeing the difference has really helped us to stick to our daily training. Highly recommend Helen to anyone who is struggling with an anxious dog or looking to rebuild their dogs confidence.
