I normally do not leave reviews, but I feel people deserve to know my experience with Bowers Used Cars before trusting them with such a major purchase. On February 26, 2026, I purchased a 2013 Nissan Pathfinder from this dealership for $7,324. I was told the vehicle was in good condition and reliable. The person I dealt with was Jeffrey Kern, who presented himself to me as the owner at the time of the sale. He even instructed me to send payment directly to him through Cash App, which I did because I trusted what I was being told.I depended on this vehicle for my daily life, work, and my family. As a mother, having safe and reliable transportation is not a luxury for me โ it is a necessity. I made this purchase believing I was buying something dependable that would help me support my family and maintain stability.Only 69 days after purchasing the vehicle, the transmission completely failed. I later had the vehicle evaluated by Nissan and was informed there were strong signs that serious transmission issues likely existed before the vehicle was sold to me. I was also advised there were indications diagnostic codes may have been cleared or hidden prior to the sale.I was then hit with an estimated repair bill of approximately $15,000 โ more than double what I paid for the vehicle. Because of the transmission failure, I lost my job due to not having dependable transportation. The financial and emotional stress this situation has caused has been devastating. As a parent trying to provide for my family, this has affected every part of my life. What hurt the most was that when I reached out for help and tried multiple times to resolve the issue respectfully, I was dismissed and told they were not responsible because I had owned the vehicle for โtwo months.โ After originally presenting himself as the owner during the sale, Jeffrey Kern later claimed he was not actually the owner when I contacted him about the transmission failure.I was also accused of harassment simply for continuing to ask questions and seek help regarding a vehicle that failed only 69 days after purchase. At no point was I threatening anyone โ I was simply desperate to resolve a serious issue that completely turned my life upside down.I understand used vehicles can have problems, but a complete transmission failure less than 70 days after purchase, combined with what Nissan told me, has left me feeling completely deceived and taken advantage of. No parent working hard to support their family should go through this. Please be careful, have any vehicle independently inspected, and document everything before purchasing from this dealership.
