I went onto various home service web sites to locate and solicit quotes from prospective contractors. Ultimately I selected UPI because during the initial assessment the owner Angel Pastrana assured me that he could fix all of the damage to my propery that was listed in the insurance report. He claimed to have a large experienced workforce and was experienced with interfacing with ***Insurance insurance companies to ensure that I was properly compensated. During our contract signing meeting Angel estimated the repairs would take between two to three weeks to be completed in time for Thanksgiving. It has been over three months and my house is still unfinished and I have given up trying to work work with him. I've had to hire others to complete the work. The entire process was a nightmare experience consisting of missed deadlines, broken promises and questionable workmanship. Dozens of calls and texts went unanswered. I made two payments. My accent walls were over sprayed white when they were refinishing my damaged ceiling, the cedar wall that they replaced and stained was streaky and bubbled. He kept delaying addressing the roof leak and sanding and restaining the interior wooden ceiling and repairing the damaged fence. I feel obligated to warn others against hiring this company. Angel's customer service was deplorable, terrible communication skills, missed appointments and continual delays. So many promises were made initially but most of those promises were never kept. The final straw was his failure to return to fix the fence despite him promising to do so. I informed him that I was not going to wait any further despite making two large payments, his response was to berate me then trying to apologize. Angel has since tried to offer to come to my home and fix what should have been completed by his company months ago however, given his lack of efficiency and disrespect this is not someone i want anywhere near my home. His accreditation was removed from the BBB and has been referred to the State Attorneys office. Do yourself a favor, stay far away from him! Less
