Our son has been training at USSD for six years now.We originally enrolled him during the COVID pandemic simply because we wanted to find a place where he could stay active. Looking back, it turned out to be one of the best decisions we ever made. USSD has become an irreplaceable part of his life.Mr. Greg is an outstanding instructor. More importantly, he goes above and beyond teaching martial arts—he works tirelessly to build a community where every child can grow, gain confidence, and support one another.Our son has been fortunate to be mentored by the older students, who have always been incredibly kind and encouraging. Now, he has the opportunity to give back by assisting with the younger children’s classes. It feels like he has learned so many important life lessons and discipline through USSD.From the very beginning, even when he was just a little boy, he was taught to carry his own heavy gear bag instead of relying on us. This place is so great. We are a fairly new family here and right away we felt super welcomed and comfortable. We started the kids classes and the communication has been great and the other families here are also so nice and welcoming! Been an amazing experience so far!

Our daughter absolutely loves coming to karate classes and always looks forward to every training session. Coach Greg is outstanding with children, both as a sports instructor and as a mentor. He knows how to motivate kids, teach them discipline, and make them feel confident and supported.These classes are not only about self-defense — children also learn patience, respect, responsibility, and many other important values that help them grow both on and off the mat.I also really appreciate how the students who have been training for a longer time are always so kind and supportive toward the newer children. We absolutely love USSD Karate! All three of my children attend, and it has been such a positive experience for our family. I've attended this dojo for several months after commiting to pursuing a life-goal to be a martial artist. From the start it was clear that I chose right and have been very happy with the instruction and inlcusivivty. Greg's first priority is safety, but his knowledge and skill are exceptional. He's extremely respectful, with a balance of attention to each student's goals and persistent movement toward fitness and advancement.The adult class is three days a week, and I've never had any problem with communication, flexability or feeling uncomfortable.I highly recommend this business for adults, youth, any skill level.

My daughter has gained so much confidence, self defense skills and life skills since joining USSD Burlingame. Mr. Greg is a strict, funny, knowledgeable, tough and one of the kindest human beings I've ever met in life.
