Dr Chaves and his staff are exceptional. I have been a patient for ten years. I had to take care of some family issues outside of California and missed several appointments and consequently my teeth needed care. At no point did any of the hygienists or Dr Chaves make me feel like I was negligent, but instead just focused on getting me back on track. Dr Chaves is so experienced and kind and surrounds himself with a great team. Absolutely exceptional!

I recommend Dr.Chaves over and over to my friends and family!! I have been seeing him since 2010 and he is the only dentist that I will let around my teeth! I had incredible fear when I first started seeing him and he worked with me and now I walk into his office excited to see him! His"bedside manner" is amazing! He takes the time to listen to me and answer any questions I have to the extent that I understand! My entire family comes to this office and we all absolutely adore him!! I cannot forget his staff. They all are wonderful!! Very caring, attentive to any needs or concerns of their patients. Gabby and Lisa at the front desk are also amazing and always smiling and cheerful when you walk in the door!!

This was the best experience I have ever had with a dental hygienist in my entire life.I am 59 years old and I have struggled with my teeth and gums for as long as I can remember, so dental visits have not always been the easiest experience for me. Irene was completely different from any hygienist I have ever seen.I had a very extensive scaling and root planing (deep cleaning) procedure. It is typically done in two separate appointments, but I chose to do the entire thing in one visit, which ended up being about four hours. Thankfully nitrous was included because of the length of the appointment, which made the entire experience much more comfortable.Irene was incredibly gentle, kind, and thoughtful the entire time. She checked in with me throughout the procedure and made sure I was comfortable. For such a long and intensive treatment, I honestly could not have asked for a better experience.What really stood out was how much she genuinely cared about setting me up for success going forward. She did not just clean my teeth and send me out the door. She walked me through a very specific routine I can follow at home. She showed me where I personally get the most buildup, how to focus on the inside bottom teeth first when brushing, and how to work my way through my mouth more effectively.She also recommended tools and products that are already helping me, including a specific Waterpik attachment and MI Paste Plus. For the first time, I actually feel like I have a clear morning and evening routine that will help me stay on top of my dental health.I honestly never thought I would be writing a glowing review about a dental office or a hygienist, but Irene absolutely deserves it. I left feeling encouraged instead of discouraged, and that means a lot when you have dealt with lifelong dental challenges.I am incredibly grateful for her care, patience, and expertise.

I have been a patient with Dr Chavez for only a few months now, but I've seen such better results than with any other provider. He is attentive, friendly, and makes office visits feel relaxing. His staff is something else too!!! Lisa helped me install and remove my Invisalign, and I couldn't have asked for better dental care. She was also very friendly and explained things so well. If anyone is nervous about doctors visits or feels like they might be judged coming here, leave that all at the door. I would recommend Dr Chaves and his team to anyone!!! I've been thinking about Invisalign for a while and decided to finally take the step to inquire about it. I've had braces when I was younger but my teeth over the years have shifted. Dr.Chaves walked me through the process via consultation and after moving forward, working with Lisa Magallanes was great. She answered any questions I had and was very helpful throughout the process. I've been seeing Dr. Chaves for about 15 years and all I have to say is... he's the best. I have complete confidence in him, and I don't give that easily. He's very intelligent and multi-talented (even has a mechanical engineering degree) and always takes the time to explain options clearly and thoroughly. One time I saw another dentist who saw Dr. Chaves' work, and the other dentist couldn't stop gushing about how beautiful Chaves' work is. I drive hours to see him now which is a pain in the ass but it's worth it because he's the best. All of the staff is amazing as well and I always enjoy visiting (other than the drive).

I found out about Dr. Chaves by happenstance and wasn't actively looking for a new dentist due to the hassle of the process alone. A podcaster I had listened to over the years and knew to be well informed, with high standards when it came to physical health had mentioned Dr. Chaves by name. Didn't think anything of it until the other podcast co-host mentioned he took his advice a month or so down the road, and went to see him. Clearly didn't seem like an advertisement (because his name wasn't mentioned that second time). These two are very clear about their sponsorships and they're almost always written by said sponsor as a common business practice. Needless to say, 3 years+ later now as a patient, and my negative preconceived notions and experiences from past dentists have vanished. Any time there's been a potential cost to me as the patient, Dr. Chaves discussed the options, without trying to sell me. Strictly informational and genuine advice was given. Even if your decision is to go against immediate treatment, he and his team accommodated and reassessed the best path taking the patients wishes directly into account. You won't find an office front end or back end that communicates better with one another, along with patients when it comes to scheduling. They're in constant radio contact in the office and I've yet to encounter miscommunications as for the purpose of my visits. Since I mentioned scheduling, a previous general pet peeve of mine is arriving (early even)only to sit and wait well past your appointment start time. Never has been an issue here however. A rarity. The intent of this review wasn't necessarily for general dentistry, despite it being the best I've found. This is an Invisalign review. This was my second attempt at it, the first resulting in me quitting mid treatment, fault being my own (and at a different orthodontist completely). I was dreading it nonetheless when I mentioned it to Dr. Chaves and did so reluctantly, looking for a reason not to pursue it. He very quickly put my concerns/hesitation at ease, and promised me it would be done in 3-4 months, if I did my part. This time it was on me to hold up my end. As funny as it sounds, the staff and doctor(s) make you want to be a better patient by offering genuine encouragement without being obnoxious or infantilizing you. When improvements have needed to be made, they were expressed, and I felt zero judgement/embarrassment. Having said ALL that, Jenni is the in-house all-star when it comes to Invisalign, and handled mine with care and professionalism. As of now, it's been nearly 4 months and I just had them removed last week. Couldn't be happier with the results. I held up my end, and they held up theirs. How it should be. Even if you aren't looking for a new dentist/orthodontist because you're indifferent and it's an occasional unpleasant inconvenience, it really doesn't have to be. Genuinely can't recommend this place enough!

I love love love the office of Dr. Chaves! I've been coming here for 10+ years and I cannot say enough how Liza (front office) and John have always taken such good care of my family and me. They almost make me feel excited about going to the dentist I personally prefer the Woodland Hills office, but the Beverly Hills office is really beautiful too and it's nice to be able to go to both depending on where you're located.
