Matt McDiffip – Google review 8-12-25I am an older female living in a 50 year old townhouse in South Boulder. Eight years ago I had the furnace removed and Mitusubishi mini splits installed. Unbeknownst to me, the system that was installed is not for cold climates. (It does quite well cooling the house but are not effective in the winter.) In addition to upgrading the mini split system I was looking for a reliable company to replace the corroded copper pipes in the utility room and externally venting the clothes dryer and bathroom fan.Prime Performance Mechanical came highly recommended by a successful tech friend rental property owner. After much research this friend chose Prime Performance Mechanical to install a whole house ductless heat pump and was happy with the results.I contacted Matt, owner of Primer Performance Mechanical, who came over within the week to look at the scope of the job and provide quotes. Matt proved to be patient and knowledgeable. He explained what needed to be done, the cost of each job and what I needed to do to prepare the space for him to do the work as well as how much time it would take to do it.Matt has extensive experience, knowledge and skill and it was evident that he valued doing each job as well as possible. He cares about his clients and about doing smaller jobs as much as the big ones. His prices were extremely reasonable compared to the two large companies that gave me bids. The only minor inconvenience was that the jobs had to be rescheduled a few times due to unexpected conflicts both on my end and in Matt’s schedule. "Ethan, the 22-year-old journeyman technician that serviced my air conditioning unit is the son of Matt the owner of Prime Performance Mechanical LLC. Before he arrived at the appointment I did not know whether he was an apprentice or journeyman level technician. But with one question, he knew where to start. I asked him if he wanted to start upstairs at the unit inside or outside at the unit outside. He first asked me to describe the condition of the unit as it was. I told him when I turn it on the fan blows but it doesn't get cold. He said then it's a problem with it the outside unit. He took the cover off of the electrical components inside the air conditioner, and noticed by sight, that the capacitor was swollen. He replace the capacitor, and ask me to turn on the unit inside at the thermostat. I did and then the fan turned on. It seemed cooler but I wasn't sure so I went back outside, and being intelligent he said there will be some latency as the unit begins to work again. I knew he was a journeyman by now. And then he cleaned out the inside of the electrical component area and put the cover back on after he tested the pressure of the unit to verify that I had enough coolant. While he did that I went back in to enjoy my air conditioning, which you think is a luxury until you do not have it. He told me that my levels were perfect. And this was news to me because the last technician that came out 3 years ago told me that I was low and that he could replace it but he quoted me outrageous rates for something I knew I could buy and have somebody install. However Ethan, Ethan was honest. That's something only a family can teach a child. Ethan was genuine, earnest, and professional. He is good at his trade and will help his father expand this company. I would continue working with them as they are a company that you can trust. Because they know it is more important to be honest, efficient, and effective than to be deceitful because unethical business practices lead to bankruptcy and enemies. In the future, I will be contacting them for my HVAC service calls.

Our AC unit went out and the house got up to 90+ degrees. Got ahold of Matt McDiffet at 10:00 am and he was onsite and had the unit fixed within 2 hours same day. Life saver on a 100 degree day. Can’t recommend enough! On time, professional, polite - can’t ask for more.
