Just amazing coffee!! All I wanted was to buy good locally grown Costa Rican coffee beans; no tour of just one plantation, no tourist trap. Marco and Andrea, delivered just that. Their passion for coffee was contagious. We tasted carefully prepared coffee from different regions, altitudes and lineage that were each unique and delicious. I am not a coffee connoisseur, but even I could tell that this was something special. If you love or even like coffee, you must visit their shop.

We stopped by Big Finger Coffee Rooster and had an amazing experience. The staff welcomed us right away and talked about their products with so much passion and interest. We got to taste their traditional-style coffee, which was absolutely delicious. We even picked up some coffee to bring back home for our family and friends.Highly recommended!

Wow! So glad I found this place; I walked in and the aroma was incredible! Each different type of coffee is unique and distinct. My favorite is the honey process. The prices are also incredible considering the amount of care and expertise involved in creating such a high level product.

We happened to visit just as they were moving into the new spot so we didn't get the full experience. but staff was lovely. the items for sale made by local artists were nice. I love how invested in the community they are. And if you're fortunate enough to be there once they're up and running now, go visit.

Update Nov 2025 - I am back to Coco Beach 4 years later and happy to see Big Fingers is still happening. They are now just a roaster where you can buy their coffee or do coffee tasting but cannot buy coffee beverages. I bought a bag of Navaujita Sundried - very good. ////////My Original Review 2021 - Good Euro style medium roast espresso. The 2 guys running it are very knowledgeable about Costa Rica coffee. I got a bag of Navaujita Sundried beans - very good with a slight earthy/fermented taste - makes nice single original espresso. And cute resident cat as well.

We are so glad we signed up for a coffee tasting with Marco & Andrea. They are such a lovely couple and so very passionate about coffee. The morning flew by with Marco educating us on the coffee regions of Costa Rica as well as the different beans and unique characteristics of each of the 5 coffees we tasted. The roastery is clearly a labour of love for these wonderful, hard-working people and we were glad to hear their business and products are gaining in popularity. Well-deserved! By the time we left, we felt we had gained 2 new friends. We even had a chance to stop by and say hi to them at their new location at Pueblito Sur which will be opening very soon. If you like coffee, or if you just want to learn more about its significance in Costa Rican culture, do yourself a favour and book a tasting at Big Fingers! You definitely won't find yourself nodding off (partially because you are drinking coffee but mostly because it is so interesting!!)

Fantastic experience doing class with Marco & Andrea! Learned so much about coffee production in Costa Rica, their roasting operation & different coffee profiles. Samples different coffees prepared with different brewing methods. Highly recommend the class or stopping in to buy coffee.
