When my son was in first grade, he was still not at a kindergarten reading level and had trouble recognizing some letters. We discovered he had dyslexia and began working with Burke's Transformation Academy. After 10 months of working with a dyslexia tutor from Burke's, he is now able to read complex words he's never seen before on his own with no help. He is caught up with his classmates and looks to be one of the better readers in his 2nd grade class this year. The progress he's made has been amazing, and we couldn't have done it without Burke's. I highly recommend Burke's Transformation Academy for any child that has dyslexia.

Pennie has been a a big part of our 10 year old son’ s dyslexic education. He has been receiving services in Barton Reading from her for 1.5 years. He has improved tremendously since being a part of her program. She truly cares about his development. Would highly recommend.

Review from a New StudentMy son has been working with Miss Pennie for about a month. He has always struggled in school, with reading, and any at-home work or homework was a huge battle to get done. He has loved every session with Miss Pennie, has not protested once, and was so sad to miss a session on a day we had to reschedule. My 14-year-old son has been receiving Barton tutoring from Mrs. Pennie for the last three years. He has progressed from the beginning of the program to Level 8 currently. Mrs. Pennie boosts his confidence in reading, spelling, and writing. She is patient and can judge when my son is getting frustrated and needs a break. Mrs. Pennie is personable and tries to connect with my son making him feel comfortable. My son has both dyslexia and ADHD. Reading proves to be very challenging for him and he continues to make steady academic progress with Mrs. Pennie and the Barton program.

we were not able to find a good teacher for my daughter until we found Pennie . We have been working with Pennie for about a year now , I have noticed a significant improvement in my daughter’s ability to read . I highly recommend this center as it truly has helped my daughter a lot .

I cannot express enough how much we love Mrs.Pennie. My 10 year old son has dyslexia and dysgraphia. We found Burkes Transformation Academy and after going to her for about 2 months I’m amazed at how much growth I’ve seen in my son already. She has helped him so much as well as gave him a boost in confidence. She is so patient and understanding and I’m so thankful for what she does. My son was diagnosed as a teen with Dyslexia. We found Burks transformation Academy after having a negative experience with another tutor. Our experience with Burks has been amazing! Penny and her staff are excellent with my teen, they knew exactly how to keep him engaged. My son enjoys his tutoring sessions and this has led to extreme improvements in his reading and writing. From this he has gained so much confidence! I recommend Burks for any parent/child who needs a company that cares about your child, their work, and understands that real life happens. If you or your child has difficulty reading or spelling, I cannot recommend enough in partnering with Pennie and her staff to help walk alongside you and your child. I have a 14 year old son who has struggled with reading and spelling his whole life. He would read so well one day and then the next day it felt like we needed to start back at the beginning with his reading fluency. So many tears from us both. Barton curriculum is the ONLY curriculum that I have found that works for a child or adult who is truly dyslexic. As a homeschool mom I have spent thousands of dollars on curriculum and apps to help us get over this mountain and nothing has stuck. As an adult who is dyslexic as well, I wish I would have known about Barton when I was in school. If you are reading this and considering using Barton with Pennie don’t delay in getting your child caught up and soaring in their education. She will work with your child and partner with you in their reading.
