HL Design did an amazing job! Their price was so much better than the competition. One company came out and quoted me double HL Design's price and they were going to do wooden steps.HL Design removed my old deck within a couple of hours. The install took only a few days as promised. The crew was very professional and cleaned up after themselves. They laid grass seeds afterwards. The grass has fully grown in now. I love my stone patio and would highly recommend them.

I've used them for three projects so far, and have been thrilled with the results. First time they rebuilt a collapsed cinderblock retaining wall with natural stone, the second time repointing an almost 40 year old stone retaining wall, and most recently installing a natural stone stairway and small retaining wall. Their prices are good and they are happy to suggest ways to trim costs, but more importantly, the work is excellent.

i am very pleased with the extensive work done on our property. david howe and all of the workers were reliable and courteous. we had a fire pit, garden areas (terraced), patios and stairs installed. all projects were completed in a timely fashion. the landscaping was thoughtfully done. the company is very good about following up to address any issues

HL Design contractors were very, very good. We are very pleased with the new backyard paver patio job. We hired David and Cathy Howe to tackle a slope-challenge of installing pavers, river rock outline, and a fence, to cover our whole back yard, with a declined slope. It was a major job!They were very timely and started the job way quicker than we imagined and David’s team finished the job in 3 days. The work is top-notch. The pavers look very attractive; they decreased the slope to make it a level patio; the river rock is a very nice touch; The fence is looking great!David’s old-school touch of having a hand-written contract with drawings was different, but it worked! It was very unique! The communication was slow at times, but not bad. There were a couple of pavers that were loose after a week or so, but David’s team came out and fixed them, guaranteeing their work, which was great!We are very happy. Thanks HL Design Landscaping! We would definitely hire them again for other similar projects.

We were looking for a hardscaper to install a patio in our townhome backyard on a relatively short timeline (~month). We contacted more than 5 different contractors; some of which were rather uninterested in even performing an estimate.On the contrary, Dave with HL Design was prompt in contacting me (same day that I inquired via home advisor) as well as coming by my property and performing an estimate. We received 3 different estimates, and ultimately chose HL Design seeing as his was the best combination of value and quality body of work.The job itself turned out excellent and was completed on the timeline we had agreed to. One other thing I found interesting was that all other contractors felt they could easily disconnect and reconnect my AC unit since we wanted the unit to sit on the patio itself. HL design however suggested we call a professional to have this service done. This may have been an added cost but I believe it was the right advice seeing as there is much more that went into this than I had expected. I used Tony with Urbana HVAC for this and he was awesome in coming out on very short notice. That said, very happy with the work of HL design and we will surely enjoy our new outdoor living space as the weather starts to warm up!

HL Design was a great choice for our patio project this year and they did such an amazing job! We reviewed many landscaping companies before choosing HL Design. They didn’t disappoint and offered an excellent 3-year warranty as well. HL Design performed our free on-site consultation quickly bringing with them a thick Nicolock paver catalog for us to review then provided a detailed design and quote a few days later along with a great price. They then revisited on-site to deliver some Nicolock paver samples of our choice per our HOA guidelines and flag marked the patio outline to aid in visualizing the design. HL Design ordered and delivered all the Nicolock supplies directly to our house and finished the project in 9 days! Once the project was complete, HL Design restored all damaged land and grass due to the heavy machinery used during delivery and construction. HL Design were great communicators and even worked out an easy payment structure in our contract. This company provided me a fair price and delivered a quality product on time. They installed a paver patio for me and I could tell they took pride in their installation, which is unfortunately a rarity these days. I would hire them again. Dave and Kathy -husband and wife, were a pleasure to work with and most importantly answered the phone or called me back, right away. Do yourself a favor and check them out.

I called to get an estimate for a patio repair. Hayden arrived as scheduled. I was impressed by two things. First, he was incredibly knowledgeable about our plantings. He knew the correct names of several unusual plants and had good suggestions for other plants to add. Second, after discussing three patio repair options, explaining how each would work, he basically told me that I was capable of doing this work myself and explained how to do it, efectively talking me out of hiring him. His knowledge, honesty and integrity were really impressive. So when something else comes up, he is the man I will hire.

He was on time and professional, I’m definitely call HL Design Landscaping again for any of my outdoor projects!
