My 10 year old daughter has been learning jujitsu with Coach K for almost a year. Coach K is super knowledgeable about her sport. She’s extremely encouraging to all the kids and really focuses on safety while learning the technical moves. I also need to note, Coach Pooley fills in sometimes. He is amazing with the children as well!Both my daughters, ages 8 and 10, just finished a week long summer camp with Coach K. Every day, they woke up so excited to spend a few hours at 10th Planet. The kids were taught various skills while having fun. I highly recommend Coach K and 10th Planet, Torrance.

Love coach K and coach Marvin they always take there time to explain the different moves to beginners and there very understanding about problems that you might have and are always there to come to some resolution. There teaching style is also very helpful and easy for beginners to learn.

My 11 year old has been training here about a year and my 13 year old has been training here about 6 months. Aside from it being their getaway from anything else going on with pre teens, it’s given my girls confidence and knowledge and above all respect. The way coach Kay and Sensei Marvin teach at this academy is unreal… I started training around their age and I truly can say my daughters have learned more in a year than I learned in my first couple years… the knowledge and repetition and all around want for these kids to improve and succeed is unmatched… if you’ve got a young kid thinking about getting into jiujitsu or you’re an adult trying to find something new in the area… this is the place! If you’re not from the area I’d still recommend the drive… best decision I ever made for my kids.

Coach K and Coach Marvin care about the development of their students. They are very encouraging and patient. They pair you up with other students that will challenge you but not crush you. It’s a very positive experience and appreciate the love and camaraderie. If you’re lucky coach Marvin will demonstrates some of his old school break dance moves 💪. I want to send a huge shout out to the other coaches who also show mad love and encourage all their students to be their best. I highly recommend this place for all children, families and adults. RM

Sensei Marvin and Coach K are amazing coaches and people. I have been training here for about 8 months and loving it. They both love teaching and growing their students. You can see the passion they have for Jiu-jitsu. There is a lot of fun moments during the classes, however it is an intense environment as the coaches are detail orientated and strive to push yourself to be the best. All the coaches are amazing, and one of the biggest things preached is keeping everyone safe, healthy and injury free.

10th Planet Torrance has been an exceptional jiu jitsu gym in teaching the martial art. Sensei Marvin and the coaches there take pride in teaching jiu jitsu the correct and safest way possible and that’s why they are ahead of other gyms, the passion for the sport is felt in this gym and if you are thinking about giving it a shot this is the right place to go to. 5/5 would recommend to anyone that is interested.

10th planet Torrance is the best BJJ dojo in the South Bay. Professor Marvin & Coach K provide a safe, clean and fun atmosphere for all ages & skill sets. In addition to the best no gi classes there is a variety of classes from Samba to kettle bells. A clean BJJ DOJO is a happy dojo.

The knowledge this place puts out, the frequency of classes, the mindset of the coaches and details that Marvin shows during class is more than what you need in any level you are at in jiu jitsu. I am from Northern California and have been here multiple times and the hospitality gets better every time. Marvin and Coach Kay are awesome people with big hearts who love jiu jitsu. Take a class, camp or open mat.. super worth it
