For context, I represent people who aren't very knowledgeable regarding if they're getting taken advantage of.I believe Fernando is an honest man, and I advocate everyone else doesn't mistake things they don't understand for malice. Here was my experience.I came in for a same-day no appointment front wheel replacement. I was suspicious why the quote was a range rather than a number (would services I didn't ask for be performed?). I was suspicious why I couldn't choose the tire I ended up with (was the goal to imprison me into an upsell?). I was suspicious why the estimated time was 2 hours when the internet suggested it should take 40 minutes (were labor hours being farmed?).By the end of the service, all my suspicions/questions were answered. His quote was a range and I couldn't choose the tire *because* tires weren't kept in stock and he went out of his way to go purchase a tire for my bike at that very moment. He used his knowledge of the market to bargain a good price for a tire he knew would work for my riding (straight city riding). I mentioned it was the first maintenance of a used bike I bought a few months ago and instead of forcing me into paying for services I didn't ask for, he looked at everything out of his own kindness, transparently told me what I needed, offered what he could fix on the spot, and gave honest timelines for when fixes should ideally be done. The estimated time was 2 hours, but I showed up early a little before the hour was over and he was already done. He offered to adjust my chain and explained why it's far too loose and the problems that could cause, allowed me to watch and taught me as he did it, and didn't charge me an extra labor hour despite going past the first.
