She’s almost 6 but this was her FIRST haircut. She is extremely tender headed and very afraid of new experiences. You absolutely would never know and at the end she had a new bff in Kat. She was so fun and gentle with her and it was an amazing experience and I’m so glad we went and met Kat!!! Thank you so much for the BEST experience!!! We will be back!

If I could give this place 10 Stars I would! Kat is an absolute amazing stylist, she made my 4-year-old granddaughter just giddy with her kind attention and care and skill. She is very gifted with hair cutting and styling and also the way she deals with children. Highly recommend her and the salon!

Haircare is usually a massive uphill battle for us, but our visit to Sharkey’s Cuts for Kids in Chesterfield completely changed everything. Kat is a absolute miracle worker, and I am so incredibly grateful for the patience, kindness, and genuine care she showed to each of my three children.She started with my 2-year-old daughter, and I was blown away by how quick and tender she was. In what felt like just seconds, Kat expertly gave her a quick bang trim and styled her sweet curls beautifully before any toddler squirming could even begin.Next was my 5-year-old daughter, who is a sensory kid with ADHD. She has a very sensitive scalp, struggles to sit still, and often finds it difficult to answer direct questions from people. Kat handled her with a level of grace and understanding that is so incredibly rare to find. Instead of rushing or showing frustration, Kat was beautifully patient, engaging with her gently, and treating her with the utmost respect. She even gave her a beautiful braid. To see my daughter sitting there completely happy, safe, and comfortable was a total dream. For a child with sensory sensitivities, that comfort is everything.To top it all off, Kat is now working on my 9-year-old son’s hair, and she has been effortlessly chatting with him about his favorite video games and YouTube channels. She meets every single child exactly where they are at, adapting her energy perfectly to their age and personality. She is so incredibly nice, and I genuinely enjoyed just sitting and talking with her myself.This salon has created an environment that turns a stressful chore into a relaxing core memory. Within just five minutes of walking through the door, my son looked up at me and said, "Never take us anywhere else to get our hair done!" while he calmly queued up Roblox and relaxed with his sister. Kat didn't just give my kids great haircuts today; she gave a tired mom total peace of mind and made my children feel seen, safe, and happy. If you have kids—especially if you have a child with sensory needs or ADHD—do yourself a huge favor, go to the Chesterfield location, and ask for Kat. We will never go anywhere else!

My daughter has been getting her hair cut hete since she was 3 years old. The stylists are very friendly and patient with the kids. They have fun chairs, TVs, and video games. My daughter gets a manicure and a free ring with each hair cut which is a lot of fun for her!

Kat was incredible and the experience exceeded expectations. She was so great with my two year old son. I was fully expecting him to cry the whole time and he didn’t shed a tear! She clearly has a gift interacting with kids and making them feel at ease. His haircut looked great, too!
