Couldn’t be happier with our experience at Curated Jiu-Jitsu. My 5 year old absolutely loves training here and looks forward to every session. The coaches make it fun, engaging, and age-appropriate, but there’s still real structure behind it. You can already see how it’s helping build her confidence, focus, and discipline - without it ever feeling forced.Seeing her earn her first stripe on her white belt was a proud moment, and she’s been buzzing about it ever since. That was the final push for me too… I’ve now signed up myself. Safe to say, this place has a great atmosphere, strong values, and a genuinely welcoming community for both kids and adults. Highly recommended.

My 5-year-old has been training at Curated for almost a year now, and the experience has been incredible from day one. The coaches are not only highly knowledgeable, but also warm and encouraging—he felt welcomed and supported right from his very first session. Since starting, he’s grown in so many ways, with a noticeable improvement in his focus and attention.Curated has a real community feel, and he's made a great group of little friends. Both my daughter, (3 years) and I have been inspired to join and start our own jiu-jitsu journeys now; I wouldn’t consider training anywhere else.

I’ve just completed the 8-week intro course at Curated Jiu-Jitsu in Meltham, and honestly, I couldn’t recommend it more highly. From the very first session, I was made to feel completely welcome – the coaches and the regular members are some of the friendliest people you could hope to meet. There’s a real sense of community here – no ego, no intimidation, just a brilliant group of people who want to learn, improve, and support each other.Physically, it’s one of the most rewarding things I’ve done. It’s challenging in the best way – every class pushes you, but the coaches do an incredible job of making it accessible no matter your fitness level or experience. You never feel out of your depth, just encouraged to keep showing up and doing your best.I’ve signed up for a full membership now without hesitation – it’s become a proper highlight of my week. If you're even slightly curious about trying Jiu-Jitsu, this is the place to do it.

Posting on behalf of my 4 year old who has been going for over 8 weeks:My Super Fun Curated Jiu-Jitsu Review!Hi! I’m 4 and I started Jiu-Jitsu at Curated Jiu-Jitsu like aaaaaaages ago and guess what? It’s SOOO MUCH FUN!Coach Gabby always makes me giggle and helps me roll like a little ninja!Coach Nate is super silly and claps for me when I do a good job!Professor Jamie is really kind and made me feel like a real superhero when I first wore my Jiu Jitsu Gi. He told me it gave me super powers.I get to play fun Jiu-Jitsu games with my new friends every week. My favourite thing is when we run around the mats and dodge things or try to do backpacks and they try to throw us off or do funny warm-ups.Sometimes I feel a little shy or wobbly, but everyone is super nice and smiles a lot. The coaches make me feel like i'm a champion. I love rolling and crawling and learning to be big and strong, just like them.I always ask Daddy, “Is it Jiu-Jitsu day yet?” because I can’t wait to go again! If you like fun, friends, and learning to be strong, you will LOVE Curated Jiu-Jitsu!Thank you Coach Gabby, Coach Nate, and Professor Jamie. Jamie is an amazing coach and professor, and Curated Jiu Jitsu is truly a special place. The gym is perfect for both beginners who are just starting out and advanced competitors who want to push their skills to the next level. The environment is very welcoming and supportive, and the level of instruction is outstanding. Gabi and Nate are also incredible coaches who bring a lot of knowledge, energy, and passion to every class. Our four year old started at Curated Jiu-Jitsu a couple of months ago and it has to be one of the best decisions we’ve made for him. He would go every night if he could, as he just loves the sessions. The coaches are brilliant with the children and make it different and fun every time, as well as teaching the children listening skills, discipline and respect. He is also tired afterwards, making it a great way to burn energy after school. We were made to feel really welcome on joining and would recommend to others without hesitation. Both my children started at the same time but different classes due to age gap. I was concerned about my eldest child being picked on and bullied the last straw was when 4 boys from the bigger year group decided to use my child as a punch bag. I even had to get the police involved and the school still did not support or stand by my child. And as time went on other children’s parents approached me and told me they had gone through similar situations and the school did not stand or support them but molly cuddled the bullies. So as a parent I was concerned I had even contacted my Doctors for support but the mental health support is nonexistent. So I searched about and found Gracie Barra Jiu Jitsu it was further away than I wanted to go but after going there to check it out and see how the staff at Gracie Barra teach children I did a free taster session for both my children and both my children where apprehensive at first but then started to enjoy it. I noticed a big change in my eldest personality she was happy again and she felt more confident at school too. After going to Gracie Barra for a few months I was at school in the playground. One of the bullies saw my child they even knew I was the child’s dad and he came and started pushing my child about well my child turned around went into ready stance and pushed back the bully was quite shocked as was I and my child stood firm looking directly at him and he just turned and ran. Since my children have been attending their Jiu Jitsu classes their self esteem and confidence has grown strength to strength. It was the best decision I have made for my children it’s something they can use to protect and defend themselves in life a real proper life skill. And what can I say about the coaches, coach Gabby and Coach Nate are excellent as well as Professor Jamie the way they teach the children and support them is second to none. They are always to hand to to talk to and nothing is too much trouble they are a excellent team and it will show through your child paying attention and there mannerisms will change for the better and the confidence they show is amazing I have seen it in both my children and have been told my children’s school teachers wow I was amazed by your child really showed some leadership in class today, your child stood up infront of the school assembly and explained their answer to a question. I am so happy I chose to bring my children to Gracie Barra Jiu Jitsu bring your children or yourselves and have a taster session you won’t be disappointed.

Our son joined the club back in January. I was highly impressed how welcome they made him and myself feel. Gabby was so lovely and explained everything he would be doing in the sessions. Our son absolutely loves coming and has made some friends now too. All the trainers are super professional but very friendly. His confidence has grown immensely since January. I highly recommend this club to anyone considering joining.

This BJJ academy offers a great training environment for new starters and experienced grapplers alike. There is a really positive and nurturing culture on the mats with very knowledgeable coaches and higher ranked students who are all keen to help each other develop. The junior program is structured but still relaxed enough that the kids always seem to be having fun. I have trained at a couple of places and this academy has the most professional, yet welcoming atmosphere that I have experienced.

I can't say enough good things about the club and the people. My son has been a member here for a few years. Quality of coaching is of the highest standard but it is the atmosphere, sense of discipline and effort put in by the instructors. It is more than a Jiu Jitsu club, it is a place where he goes to learn about life. The extra time and care they take to guide him is invaluable and amazing and very much appreciated. The number sessions available each week make the membership costs worthwhile and help with being flexible for a busy lifestyle.

Jamie, Gabby & the rest of their team created something really unique when it comes to environment and team dynamics. There’s a certain culture of respect that you can’t really achieve unless your heart is fully into it and these guys have nailed it. I’m five months in already, atm taking a short break due to a minor injury however I can’t wait to get back on the mat. Couldn’t recommend them enough if you’re struggling to find some sort of motivation and discipline in your life. Keep up the good works guys, much appreciated 🙏🏼
