It has been almost a year since our trip to the Amazon and I still think about it almost every day. I tell stories from this trip all the time. Ben handled all of the logistics for us. I never remember feeling hurried or stressed. He planned side-adventures for us to make sure it wasn't just a fishing trip. Our guide was awesome. He taught us quite a few words in Portuguese as we went along. By the end of the week the three of us in the boat made a great team. Here are a few of the things we did: - Caught piranhas, peacock bass, arowanas and other fish - Visited villages along our fishing route - Saw wild macaws, parrots, dolphins, and alligators - Went on an excursion after dark to see alligators on the shoreline - Ate professionally-cooked meals on a house boat as we watched the sun set - Visited floating shops and restaurants - Attempted to catch 7-foot long pirarucu at one of the floating shops - Swam with the pink dolphins Less

I was able to have the trip of a lifetime with Ben and his team visiting the wilds of the Amazon. We saw pink dolphins, divided waters, caught numerous fish and visited remote stretches of jungle. I would recommend this trip because you also might have the opportunity to meet/help the people who live in the protected areas of the Amazon. Less

I had an incredible experience visiting Brazil and fishing the Amazon with Ben and his crew! It truly was an adventure like no other. Other than the bait fish, I fished Peacock bass, piraña, and tiger catfish, but saw alligators (small and giant), stingray, pink dolphins, electric eels, and enormous turtles. Someone in my group also spotted a jaguar. Despite that scary list, I felt totally safe because of my guide and the crew. Ben speaks Portuguese as comfortably as a native (as a stunned local pointed out), and Ben and the fishing guides blew me away with their fishing and navigating skills - I trusted them entirely. The food. Daily fresh fruit, cheese rolls, and the signature beans and rice accompanied our fresh catches that were served in fish tacos, soups, and, of course, simply grilled. We had one day on a prepared beach for grilling steak. We ate so well. OH, and the juice. The juice was my favorite. Something unique to anything else I’ve ever done was the “Addventure” where we met with local village leaders and families to discuss their life and provide prepared gifts from home. I loved this. There are vacations and there are adventures. The is by far an adventure of a lifetime that I was able to do with my son. Logistically, the company and Ben handled all the little details to make the trip special. We loved being able to explore Manaus before our boat trip. Our expedition down the Rio Negra was nothing short of spectacular. I am not an avid fisher, but I really enjoyed the fishing. It helped that there was a personal guide that came with my son and I! The food on board was so delicious. That was one of my favorite parts. I loved getting to explore the small villages and meet the local people. I enjoyed the beauty the Amazon had to offer.
