If you’re reading this - you’re looking for a gym. Stop at this one. It’s the story as old as time… We’re once young, fit, and can eat anything we want. Then we become adults, get married, have kids and get so wrapped up in a career that our health and fitness suffers.Sound familiar? In my younger days, I was a happy, energetic, athletic college athlete. I worked out regularly and maintained outstanding physical stamina and fitness.Somewhere in my early 20’s (around 15 years ago- damn that’s weird to say!), I completely stopped going to the gym or really exercising at all. I got married, had kids and was just trying to grind through life. Things went fine. Then- somewhere around my mid 30’s, metabolism just stopped. All the sudden I felt sluggish, I was putting on weight in massive numbers, my body essentially stopped functioning efficiently like it’d used to, seemingly overnight.I went from a super athletic dude my entire life to an out of shape middle aged man. Talk about a gut punch. With that- I’d lost all confidence, self esteem and despite numerous repeated attempts to get in the gym and get my life back— I HATED stepping in the gym. I’d quite literally forgotten how to workout, I was self-conscious and I got the same feeling everyone has at some point or the other— GYM ANXIETY! I was so far in my head about my form, my exercise, wondering how other people were judging me. It was all apart of that psychological drop from athlete to this.I knew I needed to make changes, I just prolonged it for years because of gym anxiety.I’m fortunate enough to get a majority of weekdays off, often working 2-4 days a week. My daily routine had turned into dropping the kids off at school, getting home and binging Netflix or YouTube all day until it was time to pick the kids up. Never satisfied, days dragged on, being a total couch potato.Until I met Cam and Rachel and the Fit Culture gym. I was interested in private or semi private training because of the gym anxiety and really my knowledge of working out falling off a cliff since my last workouts 15ish years ago.You WILL NOT find a better place than Fit Culture. I personally train with Cam, and he’s incredibly knowledgeable, skilled, and passionate about his workouts with you. The 2-4 days a week I work, are usually out of town. Cam customizes tailored workouts for simple dumb bell or hotel style workouts when you can’t get to the gym. He holds you accountable and is probably more interested in your goals than you are yourself.I’ve seen Rachels workout sessions, and she’s a beast. Her clients are beasts. They make me hurt. But the best part is looking around the gym and just seeing first hand Rachel and Cam’s interactions with their clients. They’re involved, it’s a personal journey for them as well as you. It’s a small little family. If you want to take back your health and have a heck of a great time doing it- join Fit Culture. I’d avoided the gym like the plague. Now- I feel like absolute crap if I go home and binge TV all day or even for a couple hours. You come to this gym, you get a good workout, you hang out with your peers, swap some stories and a few laughs and then motivate another task, then another, and you feel satisfying full days at the end.
