Julie was amazing with our Bernedoodle, Paisley. We chose private in-home training, and it was one of the best decisions we made. Julie didn't just train Paisley—she trained me too, so I could confidently continue working with her between sessions and long after the training was over.I'm so glad I found Kaleidoscope to help us start our training journey the right way. We came to Julie with a reactive puppy who couldn't be around other dogs or people without being fully in fight or flight and barking non-stop. It felt like a wall we'd never get past. We tried courses, group classes, private training by the hour... Nothing worked.We found Julie, and at first I was a little skeptical. My wife and I weren't sure it would be worth it, since our guy Gus has sort of flunked training before.We ended up signing up for a 10 session in-home package and the difference has been remarkable.He graduated from Julie's program a few weeks ago, and he now goes to daycare every day with 20 other dogs and handles new people without missing a beat. What used to be a daily source of stress is just... normal life for him now.Julie clearly knows what she's doing, and more importantly, she knew how to communicate it to both the dog and the owner. We love Julie! My mini golden doodle Ford loves when she comes for training. He has learned so many manners and skills that we use everyday. I can’t say enough good things about my experience with Julie. My Dachshund, Daisy, had a real habit of pulling on the leash and needed a lot of help with her basic manners. Julie was so patient and focused entirely on positive reinforcement, which was really important. Julie is deeply knowledgeable and she truly cares about the dogs she works with. We recently got a Chihuahua terrier mix from the Humane Society who had a lot of reactivity issues. We had tried another trainer briefly that did not work out so I did my research and turned to Julie with Kaleidoscope.Julie has been absolutely amazing to work with. She is very responsible and reliable and clearly knows her stuff. She is gentle in her approach yet firm in her boundaries and our dog Soba absolutely loves her and loves training. Awesome with my puppy! I was struggling even getting my dog to walk and Julie was able to help! She was alsoable to help with the fact that my pup did not like his harnesses, leashes, or collars and we where able to figure out what worked for him. Thank you! We just finished our in-home 10-week training with Julie. We are a retired couple who have not had a puppy for 12 years. Needless to say, it wasn’t only our little Pippa that needed training. Julie is very knowledgeable and thorough and provided videos and material after each session to help us with the lesson of the week. We learned that socialization with a puppy is not just meeting people and going for walks. It’s everyday experiences that may seem like nothing to us, but can be overwhelming to a puppy. Julie is highly skilled and knowledgeable in training. She is responsive, and understands the challenges that are involved with training a puppy. We completed the private in home puppy class, and learned the foundations we needed. When we adopted our puppy she was ill, and lost some time socializing in the community. We were at a breaking point with our 2-year-old cockapoo, Pearl, when we reached out to Julie. Although Pearl is generally loving and very smart, she would become reactive and even bite us when we tried to brush her teeth, clip her nails, and engage in other critical grooming and handling tasks. Other problem behaviors included barking at passersby and jumping up on visitors. What Pearl needed was positive reinforcement behavioral training in cooperative care (handling and grooming) and impulse control. We signed up for six in-home sessions and were impressed by Julie's organization and professionalism and her ability to bond with Pearl immediately. Julie provided lesson materials and helpful videos for the weekly topics and sent weekly reports following each session that summarized the topics covered and the behaviors we needed to work on that week. After six sessions with Julie and working with Pearl on a daily basis we have noticed a huge change in Pearl’s behavior: She is calmer, is gradually becoming more open to basic grooming tasks, enjoys training and playing games with us, and most importantly, has learned to trust us. We're working on the barking and jumping up, but the behaviors are becoming less frequent. We’re confident that the knowledge and tools Julie provided will make us better dog guardians now that we know what Pearl needs. Many thanks, Julie!

Julie was the best trainer I could have asked for. She was patient kind and caring for both me and my dog. I had a lot of different things that I wanted to work on with my dog from riding in car to basic manners to separation anxiety. Julie laid out our lessons where each one added on to the next and started slow but my dog learned each one quickly and easily. It is all positive training with rewards and never any punishment for the dog. She gave me all the lessons and videos to keep working on.
