Even getting there is relaxing if you take the scenic 101 coastal highway through Torrey Pines into Del Mar. The small office strip has a view of the ocean, and the moment you step inside everything feels clean, minimalist, and thoughtfully designed.I got a quick peek at Dr. Georgina Carrasco’s office and it’s beautiful. Even the treatment rooms have tasteful, fun wallpaper with cute tooth patterns that strike the perfect balance between dental-themed and modern design.But the real reason Blyss stands out is Dr. Carrasco herself. She is hands down the best dentist I’ve ever had and I’ve seen many. I’ve had dental work done all over the world during my military career including once in Mexico. None of it compares. Her approach is gentle, professional, and surprisingly soothing. Every step from the way she touches your mouth to how she checks your comfort is thoughtful and precise. Even the X-rays were quick and painless. They use handheld digital equipment so you’re not shuttled off to another room. That little plastic piece you usually bite on was barely noticeable. The entire process was efficient and shockingly comfortable.At one point I realized I had a little tooth pillow under my jaw to relax while she worked. Why didn’t any dentist from my childhood think of that? It’s that kind of small detail that sets her apart.Her team is just as incredible. Mona their insurance and billing expert is a quiet force behind the scenes. She works hard to break down your treatment plan explain your benefits and walk you through what your out-of-pocket cost might be. She does it all with clarity and without that rushed or jaded attitude you sometimes encounter at other offices. I overheard her working with another patient in the waiting room and it was clear she truly cares. She is that unsung hero who makes the whole experience run smoothly.And somehow the music is always on point. One day it was instrumental Disney songs and another day it was classical versions of top hits. I caught myself lightly dancing in the chair until I remembered I was in a dental office. But seriously Hakuna Matata hits different when your dental anxiety is melting away.One more thing that stood out. I hadn’t been to the dentist in a while and I was a little embarrassed about it. But Dr. Carrasco and her staff never made me feel judged. They made me feel welcome respected and cared for. That mattered more than I expected.My wife raved about Dr. Carrasco for years after seeing her during college and at her first job. Now I understand why. Blyss Dental is truly special.
