The Listening Room

Wecame to The Listening Room Nashville specifically as part of a trip to Nashville to experience acoustic music from a well-known act, Brooks and Dunn—and it turned into one of the most disappointing live music experiences I’ve ever had.The entire night was essentially hijacked by a donation-focused segment for a cause supporting incarcerated people. I want to be clear: I support the cause. But this was not what was advertised, and it completely overtook the event. Two hours in, and we still hadn’t seen any real performance from the artists we paid to see. No clear communication, no respect for the audience’s time—just an extended stretch of speeches and fundraising that felt never-ending.What made it even more surreal was that the tables around us were literally laughing out loud in agreement whenever I voiced frustration. It was obvious we weren’t the only ones feeling this way. Even the staff seemed completely in the dark—at one point saying they had no idea what was going on.When you travel to Nashville expecting a great acoustic show from a known name and instead get something entirely different, it’s a huge letdown. This should have been clearly presented as a fundraiser if that was going to be the focus.Sheer disappointment. I wouldn’t come back
