My husband and I have only recently started seeing Mike, but he has already been so helpful to us, particularly to me (I’ve had several sessions with Mike on my own). Mike is very good at what he does, and I’m extremely picky when it comes to therapists. He has a very calm and caring manner, and he’s very good at helping me to understand things that I can do to make conflicts easier to resolve without downward spiraling. Having seen other therapists and even another couple’s counselor previously, what I like about Mike’s approach is that he actually has a system to help couples communicate better, with core principles that he teaches you during your sessions and homework modules to work on in between sessions. Having had the experience with other therapists of going to a session, talking about whatever fight or issues happened, and then going home to not make any progress in between sessions, I think that Mike’s more structured approach to couples counseling is what we need is what will ultimately make the difference in our marriage. If you’re someone reading this who is on the fence about Mike, go see him for a session - You’ll be glad you did.
