I hesitated about writing this review because everyone else has left such positive comments and I want to support a small business, but I am really disappointed by my haircut. Many of my friends have told me it looks bad (first time ever) and Josh actually missed some weird long strands by accident that I had to ask my partner to cut. He also cut my hair dry and used a razor on it, which his apprentice said at the time was difficult to pull off. I have waited almost a month for it to look better, but it is just getting worse and worse. I also showed him a photo of what I had in mind, but he didn’t seem interested in that and gave me a bob that is really unflattering. Another thing is that his assistant kept taking photos of my hair which at the time I didn’t say anything about, but now I wish they had asked my permission. Maybe some of this is my fault, but I just want to put this out there in case anyone else has had a similar experience and has felt too awkward to write a review. Less

Josh cuts men’s long hair the right way. I used to have a short fade and would go to my barbershop, and then I grew my hair out. I found my person in South Florida who cut my long hair perfectly, but then when I moved to New York, I struggled through 3 haircuts that didn’t make me happy.Then I finally found Josh and he cut my hair beautifully and I’ve been back multiple times since. The vibes inside the place are top notch with the music, wallpaper, conversation and tea. It made getting a haircut fun, especially when I walk out feeling ready to conquer New York City. Less

I’ve been getting my haircut with Josh for a couple years now and couldn’t be happier. Josh is very knowledgable and experienced, which shows in the way his style is natural but always looks clean and polished. I always found it frustrating getting my haircut at other places because I would explain what I wanted and they would just do something completely different or cut everything way too short. But Josh actually takes the time to listen and understand your preferences and then makes that happen. I would definitely recommend him to anyone. Less

This was my first visit to Barbieri Hair. The space feels like home (a gorgeous little home with Gucci wallpaper) and was as welcoming as Josh himself. He intuitively understands hair, yet it feels effortless and looks great. Even though I live in the Hudson Valley, Barbieri Hair will be my new go-to salon. Less
