This wasn’t some quick checklist — I performed a series of movements to identify weaknesses in strength, balance, and mobility. Within minutes, they accurately clocked that my knees were weak, my hips like to pop out, and my grip strength is apparently that of an 80-year-old woman. I’m in my late 30s… and unfortunately, all of that is very true 😅But the best part? They didn’t just point it out — they built a plan specifically to strengthen those problem areas and guide me every step of the way. There are never more than six clients training at once, so Curtis and Jalea are constantly circulating, coaching form, correcting movement, and making sure everyone is lifting safely and effectively.What really sets this gym apart is how they progress movements. Take squats, for example. You might think the first step is grabbing a bar with no weight on it. WRONG. There are numerous squat variations you master first — starting with your own bodyweight, then moving to lighter loads — all to ensure your form is dialed in and your foundation is strong before you ever touch the bar. I’ve been injured at other gyms where instructors pushed weight without understanding my body and checking for proper form, and it wrecked my back. That does not happen here.Everyone has a training journal to track each session, and I get so much satisfaction flipping back to see what I lifted last week versus the week before. It’s physical proof of progress in my hands — and great ammo to show my husband how strong I’m getting, so he’d better stay on my good side. Me hulking out may become a very real threat soon. 😄You’ll see men and women here ranging from their 30s all the way into their 70s, all lifting smart and getting stronger. The twenty-somethings are probably off enjoying their fast metabolisms — but give them a few years, and they’ll find their way here. And honestly? This is the best place to be.
