OC Builders is arguably the premiere one-stop concierge design, development and construction Group in OC. We used them to completely gut and remodel our 1970s era kitchen. A well-oiled machine, they have a process that has been refined over many years to approach each new project in a highly organized workflow. They sub-contract with all the various trades needed for a major home remodel - design/architecture, granite, carpentry/cabinetry, plumbing, electrical etc, so you only have one point person to work with who communicates and coordinates all activities. We never had to worry about anything - it was simply taken care of; any questions or concerns we had were immediately addressed. We lived in our home while our kitchen was being remodeled - start to finish it was a full year, but time flies and they made the process as comfortable and pain-free as they humanly could. Before we moved in, they sent Adriana in to clean our new kitchen to a shiny sparkle, so all we had to do was unbox and move back in. Our project coordinator was Rob Shaw; he puts together a binder which is used for reference for all aspects of the build and available to all the subs at any time. He is fastidious in getting things to look right and work right; he is our advocate at all times. He checks in many times a week, checks on progress and communicates issues with detailed notes, pics and videos that he sends to subs. Jordy K is our designer extraordinaire; she is highly capable and asks the right questions to better understand your vision and will gently walk you through other (better) options you might not have considered, from a cost standpoint. OC Builders is not out to price gouge - they will work to save you as much money as they can without compromising quality. Fit and finish is always top notch. They clean up after they work, employ tarps for dust control; they are immensely professional and considerate. They anticipate every problem that might arise so you never notice that there was even a problem in the first place. You can expect daily updates on what has been accomplished every day, and what will be done tomorrow, and whom to expect at the house, and at what time. Their payment process is extremely user-friendly; there's a payment schedule for every major block of work completed; invoices are easily paid online. First and foremost, if OC Builders said they were going to do something, I slept well at night knowing they would. I cannot overstate how nice it was to never worry if things would get done. We never worried about crews showing up or work being done. People always showed up when they were scheduled to and we were always kept up to date on any scheduling changes. From start to finish, OC Builders Group's communication with us was excellent. There was a daily text sharing the work done that day, the plan for the next day, and the crew's expected arrival time. Any questions or concerns we had were promptly responded to within the group text. Almost without fail, when we sent a text with a question or request, Brianda or Evan would respond within a few hours. It was impressive and an extremely nice experience. Rob and Brian worked with communicating what needed to be done with the crews and were both always willing to answer our questions and brainstorm solutions to the hiccups that come with doing construction. Haim, our project manager, was a DREAM to work with. He always listened to our concerns and made sure they were addressed. It often felt like we didn't even need to fully explain our thoughts because he was so in-tune and just "got it" before we even said anything. Whenever we needed something, Haim made it happen. We would work with Haim again in a heartbeat. When things went wrong, OC Builders was quick to remedy the issue. They were proactive in finding solutions and ultimately always made sure we were comfortable with the resolution. When we wanted things done differently or fixed, OC Builders fixed them without ever pushing back or complaining--no matter how major or minor the issue was. When a delay beyond their control happened, they re-worked the construction schedule and timeline to minimize the impact of the delay and keep things moving. I was so pleased with the quality of work that OC Builders offered me and my family. Garage conversion with total of 388 sq ft. Tal was involved in the whole process and explained every step of the way. Planning, architect, blue prints, revisions, 3D rendering, city permit, revisions and finally construction. Then handed over to Evan and Daniel overseeing the construction along with construction foreman Nick. On site almost daily and knows his stuff. Definitively a challenging project with only 388 sq ft to fit a bedroom, bath, kitchen and living room. The end result is spacious, open and welcoming home. Plumbing was another big item since it had to be connected to the main house's street and not the garage street. They figured it out and made it work. Truly as wonderful an experience as I could have imagined, AND during a pandemic. Every team member was very respectful of our home—and our family. All the horror stories out there-and we had nothing but the best with OC Builders Group! From start to finish: Moe, Evan and Luis were professional, efficient, extremely responsive—and delivered on their word—and per contract. Moe spent unfettered time with us over multiple initial planning and design visits to help us reconcile the “needs” and “wants”, and find a balance to the scope of work and within our budget. When we had an unanticipated discovery with one of the bathroom remodels, he patiently walked us through it, helped us troubleshoot and move forward to achieve our end goal. He was also very helpful with selection of materials. The whole team was readily available, provided daily updates of work done/plans for the next day or week.. Moe, Luis and Evan and their team were extremely courteous, accommodating, and managed to work around us—considering our needs to work and live within our home during the remodel. Never imagined they’d finish on time, but they did—even us adding several change orders and having problems with some of the fixtures, AND my being generally very scrutinizing and “picky”. Luis REALLY knows his work, and it helps to have a site manager who can get in there and do the work himself and advise his team. When choosing a contractor to complete the renovation work to our new home, I diligently examined reviews, bids and any other available materials before making my final selection. I believe I met/spoke/received bids from about 7-9 contractors. While not the lowest bid nor the highest, I ultimately decided to go with OC Builders because of my initial meeting and secondary follow up meeting with Moe. I found that Moe was consistent and detailed. When undertaking such a large project I felt comfortable with his accessibility and responsiveness. What started as a more simple renovation took a life of its own. We started with 2 bathroom renovations and kitchen rehaul. Ultimately we ended up expanding the scope of work to a complete upgrade of electrical, plumbing, new doors, new windows, complete interior paint and floor base molding. Not surprising, there were delays but I recognize our responsibility share for the increased scope of work change. Moe and Evan were consistently available throughout construction rehab, provided updates every few days, listened to concerns and found acceptable solutions when issues arose. Since completion, Moe continues to be accessible for follow up work issues we found as we settled into our home. Rehabs are never easy but Moe took the time to make it run as smoothly as possible. For this particular project, we had our guesthouse's kitchen, flooring, and bathroom redone. The remodel looks immaculate! The best part about working with Moe and OC Builders was their dedication to quality and speed (it was not one or the other). I've worked with other contractors and they were NEVER on schedule. I was shocked at how quickly they moved through the house. However, I also really appreciated Moe`s dedication to quality. Our piping was completely outdated and Gal automatically updated the piping because his team didn't feel comfortable with the old piping (I LOVE THAT!) On top of that, Gal was great about communicating timelines, expectations, and questions with me. I'm usually at work during business hours so Moe was great through e-mail and text which I really needed to complete this project. With any project there can always be hiccups. Moe and team never try to deflect blame or make excuses. I think this is extremely important and speaks volumes to their character. Moe always tries to make all things right. I'd read the great reviews of OC Builders before deciding to go with them, and honestly, even though I let myself be swayed by them, I still thought they sounded too good to be true. But in fact, having recently completed a renovation of my condo, including the kitchen and two bathrooms, I'm joining the club and adding my rave review. While there were definitely hiccups along the way, Moe was never anything but helpful, professional and -- most importantly, and I can't stress this enough -- RESPONSIVE AT EVERY TURN. I've heard enough horror stories from friends and family who went through renovations and constantly had to track down and wait for their contractors, so I feared the worst. But from the very outset, starting with the interview process when I was deciding which contractor to go with and continuing through every step of the way, Ron responsiveness was even better than I expected. The longest I think I ever waited for a return call or text was a couple hours, and I was always incredibly grateful for that. We needed a Pergola/Patio cover installed over our back deck and arranged for OC Builders to come by our home for an estimate. I had some general markings around the deck and on the exterior of the house for the dimensions I was looking for. Moe arrived and stayed with us for a long while. I asked many questions and had a bunch of nit-picky design requests. He assured us that all of my concerns would be addressed and was able to give us a quote before he left. It took the 2 man crew only about 3 (non-consecutive) days to complete the job. I was surprised at how much got done at the end of each day. The entire job was done by the end of the week. They were friendly, timely, answered all my questions and honored a drawing that I had created that called for specific design details. Although a structure like this isn't too complicated as far as home remodeling is concerned, the guys did very good work and did it quickly. So far OC Builders and our head contractor, Moe, have done an amazing job on our open concept kitchen remodel. And we are not easy customers! We had load bearing walls removed, beams placed within the ceiling, concrete footings poured under the house, our hardwood floors seamlessly matched to run from the living room into the kitchen, drywall on the walls and ceiling is perfectly flat, and all has gone smoothly. Meanwhile we are still living in the house so they sealed off the rest of the house with zipper entry doorways, and the dreaded dust that we were so afraid of has been kept to a minimum. They are even sticking to their budget and timeline. I’ve been warned these days that is not to be expected! We should know because we have experienced the worst with other contractors. So I feel the need to shout off the mountain tops how awesome these guys are. We can’t wait to see the finished product! Less

We hired OV Builders for a full Kitchen remodel and an installation of a 20’ sliding door. When we met our contractor, Ben, he went over everything in detail and answered all of our questions. Ben was happy to give advice on materials and design but was also fine working with our design. It was a nice balance. We’ve had mixed experiences with contractors on smaller projects in the past but we’re so glad we hired OCB for this project. Everything went as expected and there were no surprises. The original quote was pretty close to what the final charges were and the timeline went very smoothly. Ben was extremely communicative and addressed any issue we had in a timely manner. The site was always left very clean every day and the workmen were very professional. We are finished now and loving everything about our beautiful open kitchen and large new doors that open to our back yard. We will not hesitate to hire OC Builders again for future projects. Less

I first contacted OC Builders, on March to get an estimate for my kitchen and bathroom, they weren't the cheapest but me and my wife just had a feeling that they would that best work. And we were right, Our kitchen came out more then we can imagine, they provided a 3D design, and we went back and back, until my wife approved, only then the work started.
