I cannot say enough good things about Dr. El-Akbawy and the he provided to my beloved cat, Preta, especially during the final stage of her life.Preta was 19 years old and had several serious health problems, including chronic kidney disease and a suspected abdominal cancer. Her condition became increasingly complicated, and our family was faced with some very difficult decisions. Throughout everything, the veterinarian was incredibly compassionate, patient, professional, and honest with us.What meant the most to me was that he never made us feel rushed or pressured. He took the time to explain Preta’s condition, her test results, the possible causes of what was happening, and what we could realistically expect. He answered all of our questions and helped us understand not only the medical aspects, but also what would be best for Preta’s comfort and quality of life.When it became clear that we were approaching the end of her life, he has continued to treat both Preta and our family with an extraordinary amount of kindness and dignity. The final process was handled with so much compassion and respect. He made sure we understood what would happen and gave us the space and time we needed to say goodbye.Losing a pet who has been part of your life for 19 years is heartbreaking, and having a veterinary that genuinely cares makes an enormous difference. I will always be grateful for the way he cared for Preta and for the compassion he showed us during one of the hardest moments we have experienced.Thank you for treating Preta with such love, respect, and dignity until her very last moments. We brought our dog Charlie to Lincoln Ave Cat & Dog Hospital a couple weeks ago after searching for what seemed like an eternity for a quality, affordable vet to repair what was likely a torn CCL and I'm pleased to report that 13 days post surgery that our girl seems to be happy and healing well. Dr A was concise and patient in answering all our questions and took the time to walk me through all the available procedures to repair a torn CCL and why he often times chooses the route he did as well as why he's able to keep his rates as affordable as he does. We had previously gone to an emergency vet, where surgery was strongly recommended, so we were extremely worried.I’m so glad we came here for another opinion. The doctor was incredibly caring and explained that they didn’t want to put my cat through surgery unless it was truly necessary. Instead, they recommended trying medication and keeping her overnight for observation. My puppy just recently got surgery here and I can say I 100% reccomend going to this vet for anyone who is looking for affordable, thorough and well thought out treatments for their pups! Dr El Akbaway was extremely knowledgeable and took the time to thoroughly explain the logistics of the procedure and aftercare post surgery. His team continued to give us updates on how our pup was doing during the surgery and then sat with us while we waited for her to wake up from the anesthesia she ended up staying overnight to be monitored but seeing her gave us a sense of comfort that was definitely needed after such a stressful day waiting for her. They even helped my family put on her harness that we use to bring her up the stairs. I trust the care that Dr Akbaway provided and appreciate his obvious love for animals as well as the families that own them!

I Walked into Lincoln Ave Cat & Dog Hospital two weeks ago and ask if they can help my pet Bunny. I wasnt very hopeful that he was going to make it.We found him laying on his side not being able too move. They said bring him in. Our sweet 19 month old puppy Charlie was noted to be limping and we sought out Lincoln ave cat and dog hospital to determine the cause of the injury. When we called them they were able to get her in immediately and perform x-rays that determined a new CCL tear to her back left leg. The fix for this injury is surgery and we were worried about our sweet girl. The staff and Dr. El Awkbawy made us feel comfortable every step of the way, ensuring we know the details of what type of surgery she would undergo and detailing the charges we would pay for the surgery. The cost was well below what other orthopedic vets would charge and you could really tell that the staff and Dr. El Awkbawy have the animals and the families best interest at heart and truly care about making sure that your pets are in good hands. Following the surgery Charlie was still very sleepy and Dr.El Awkbawy allowed us to come see her and he spent time walking us through how the surgery went after hours, even taking time to detail the reason why he chose the type of surgery he did to treat her injury. After his through explanation and answering all our questions he told us we could keep Charlie at the hospital overnight to make sure she was monitored. Today we picked her up and they were so kind and thorough in their discharge instructions. This is the first step to her recovery and she has many weeks to go but I'm so pleased with how the surgical process went and the kindness shown by Dr. El Awkbawy and his staff. I myself am a nurse and would recommend this veterinary practice to anyone who is in need of a vet or has a pet that needs surgery. Their kindness and professionalism is just what anyone needs when they have a concern about their furry family members.

My 1 and a half year old cat recently had to undergo emergency abdominal surgery, and I honestly don’t know what I would have done without them, they saved my cat's life.Dr. Elakbawy also did an incredible job spaying my dog in the past, and after everything he’s done for both of my animals, I genuinely would not trust anyone else with their lives. His knowledge, skill, and confidence gave me so much reassurance during one of the scariest experiences I’ve ever been through. He sensed my worry early on and promised me that my cat would be in his hands and kept his promise to me. He never made me feel bad about my fears, he actually went out of his way to call me to make sure I knew he remembered my requests and to never feel bad to ask him for anything. I have never met such a renowned and seasoned vet, who as busy as he is, would do this for me and my pet.Dr. Hall was absolutely incredible from start to finish. He never left my cat’s side throughout all of the procedures and after care to make sure he was ok. I owe him my life for noticing the foreign body in the radiographs when it was not easy to spot. He spent so much time explaining everything to me and never made me feel rushed, even when I had a million questions or didn’t fully understand something. He took the time to educate me about every step of the diagnostic process, all of the different possibilities, the radiograph imaging, the surgery, and what to expect afterward. When you’re facing such a serious emergency with your pet, having such a knowledgeable veterinarian who is willing to slow down, answer every question, and make sure you understand what’s happening means absolutely everything.Every single person on the office staff was so kind, patient, and reassuring, especially Yoda, Dana, Tom, and Irisa. Everyone treated me and my cat with so much care and compassion during an incredibly stressful time. They were always willing to answer my questions, help me through the process, and made everything from the paperwork to working through the insurance information and payment options as smooth as possible.This entire experience was one of the hardest things I’ve ever gone through as a pet owner, but I always felt like my cat was receiving the absolute best care possible.
