I appreciate that Riyo Dental also operates as an emergency practice, Dental Triage, and that it can be difficult to schedule appointments precisely. However, on this occasion it appeared that three patients had been booked into the same time slot when only one dentist was available, which resulted in us waiting over an hour to be seen.I would also advise others to be extra aware of the pricing. In our case, £100 was charged for the cleaning of a single tooth, on top of a £49 appointment fee and an additional £35 charge for antibiotics. While I understand that urgent care comes at a premium, a £184 total for antibiotics and single tooth clean feels extremely expensive, especially in comparison to an extraction cost, for example. While there is a published price list under the practice’s main name (rather than its emergency dentist alias), this list does not include any £100 charge for cleaning a single infected tooth, and so the list is not exhaustive nor wholly transparent. It would equally be helpful if a pricing list breakdown was available on the Dental Triage website, rather than just 'Fees depend on the issue and the treatment option you choose.' - that's obvious.Additionally, we were initially double charged the appointment fee. When this was queried, the receptionist reacted defensively rather than simply saying that they would double check. The charge was later corrected, but this added unnecessary stress to an already difficult situation.Overall, while the treatment was necessary, it was a costly and frustrating experience, and I wouldn't recommend unless you're in dire need.
