I recently moved from Phoenix to Lynchburg to attend Liberty University and I was looking to buy a townhouse that I could stay in for the next few years. The only problem was I wasn't able to make it out to Lynchburg during the home-buying process so I needed to find a realtor that would be willing to go the extra mile to help me out without my being there. JD was the perfect realtor for my situation. First, he knows the area really well so he was able to tell me not only about the specific property I was looking at, but also what the surrounding community was like. He was upfront and honest about this. For instance, he'd be honest and tell me that the neighborhood around a particular property was not the best, even if that meant he had just driven 20 minutes to some property for nothing. His knowledge of the Lynchburg area was invaluable for someone like me who knew absolutely nothing about it. Second, he had a lot of inside knowledge about the business. He had good relationships with many of the sellers so that made it very easy to get quick information upon request and to get into contract. He also knows quite a bit about what to look for on the property itself (stuff that home inspectors will be looking at). This was really helpful to know in advance before making an offer. On nearly every property we looked at, he'd point to several different potential issues on the property and say "you see this here? This is something you'll need to get looked at. Make sure you're aware of this", etc. Third, he was very responsive and patient with me. Buying sight unseen can be a little nerve-wracking, but JD was doing virtual tours of each potential property with me, and then after my indecisiveness, going back to each one and doing more virtual tours. Whenever I had a question or called, he was very responsive. If he didn't have the answer, he'd reach out to someone who did and get it for me. Overall, I am very grateful to have had JD representing me during this home purchase. I highly recommend him to anyone looking to buy or sell in the Lynchburg area. Less
