I have finally found a great dental office. My experience over the past year at Moonlight Beach Dental has been 2nd to none. My previous dentist recommended a bunch of work that needed to be done. I wanted a second opinion and that was the best decision I could have made. Dr.Vane gave me alternative options and literally saved my teeth. Her and her staff are allstars. Kassidy explained the treatment process and laid out a financial plan. Monika is the best dentalHygienist I’ve ever had. She is detailed and through. Takes her time and does an excellent job cleaning my teeth. And I can’t say enough about Teresa. A great dental assistant that works so well with Dr.Vane. So attentive and talked me through my procedure as it was happening. Moonlight Beach dental is my new dental office and I’m not going anywhere else.

I had a wonderful experience at this office. It is refreshing to find a dental office that aligns with my beliefs. I was greated by Karina and Kassidy and they made sure to accommodate me despite running behind due to morning traffic and scheduled a follow up appointment at a time that was convenient for me. Teresa took great care to examine my teeth and explain how they could assist. Dr Vane was so kind and we came up with a comprehensive treatment plan to help me create a plan to restore my dental health. I highly recommend this office.

I have been going to Moonlight Beach Dental for about 6 years or so. I love the hygienists, and I’ve never had a bad experience. They are honest, kind, knowledgeable, friendly, and don’t make you feel bad for not being a perfect person when it comes to dental health. I like being able to watch cooking shows while the hygienist works on my teeth. This is a great place in Encinitas and I recommend it to others.

Came in to get a crown re-installed. This was a crown that was installed more than 12 years ago by a different dentist. Dr. Vane did an excellent job as always. Kind and gentle and knew right away what the issue was. She was able to reset the crown thus extending the lifetime of this tooth without extraction or pressure to additional work. Thank you!

If only I met Dr. Vane and her team earlier, then I would have more pictures with my now beautiful smile! I was looking for a Holistic dentist that would get me on track for overall health after learning how connected dental health is to everything! They completely got that under control and I am on the right track!Then, Dr. Vane shared a procedure that would help improve my smile, which she assured me was easy, safe and will make a significant difference to my “small teeth” by shaping the gum line. After they provided great Invisalign care, I had the quick procedure, and I wish I did this earlier! I am so happy with my teeth finally.The entire team truly is caring and so awesome! The staff was initially helpful and friendly until I started questioning the "required services". They acted as if getting a pre-authorization from insurance was a burden. After not hearing from them for over a week I phoned and they said insurance didn't cover anything. I later found out that it was covered but there was a waiting period.Next they gave me pushback on wanting the prescription sent to my preferred pharmacy. I called to try and work things out and phone line got disconnected. I called back and they literally picked up the phone and hung up. Thinking it was an accident proved wrong as I called back two more times and they did the same. This "holistic dentist" is a detriment to the profession. Run don't walk away from this establishment.Update January 8, 2026Wasn't asking you to negotiate with my insurance and attempt for them to cover the cost on something. I was asking you to tell me the truth, that there was a waiting period before services would be covered. I find it ironic that you "pride yourselves offering good service". Good service compared to what? The self checkout stand at the grocery store? Lastly, you were not concerned enough to contact me directly with your exceptional service but expected me to call you??

I paid out of pocket for care at this office and left feeling unheard, judged, and unable to advocate for myself.From the beginning, my concerns about my teeth were not meaningfully addressed. The discussion focused almost exclusively on costly treatment recommendations, with little willingness to listen to my questions, concerns, or preferences, or to discuss alternatives.During the visit, there was minimal actual treatment completed, yet a strong push toward aggressive and expensive future care. When I asked questions about this approach, the conversation felt one-sided and dismissive rather than collaborative.Notably, after my cleaning was not completed, my teeth were brushed and the dental hygienist acknowledged that my concerns had not been engaged with appropriately and that the communication during the visit did not allow for patient advocacy or respectful dialogue.Given the judgmental tone, lack of openness, and sense of superiority within the office culture, I did not feel safe or respected continuing care here. I requested a refund for my out-of-pocket cost; instead, I was offered another appointment, which I declined due to the experience.Patients deserve to be listened to, spoken with respectfully, and included in decisions about their care. Unfortunately, that was not my experience at this practice.

I had such an amazing experience at Moonlight Dental in Encinitas. Dr. Vane took a beautifully thoughtful, biological approach to an extraction I needed and made sure everything was set up perfectly for a possible future implant. I felt so supported with their holistic approach and informed every step of the way. I love learning and understanding the process.Monica was wonderful with my photos and X-rays, and Kim… oh my god. Kim gave me the most thorough, gentle, and effective cleaning I’ve ever had. She also did laser therapy for my gums, which were a bit inflamed…what a fantastic tech to support my mouth & body!The entire experience felt high-quality, caring, and surprisingly affordable. I’m genuinely grateful my mom found this office and urged me to get dental care here. Highly recommend!

I am a true success story. I cannot praise MBD enough!! Dr.Vane & her staff are wonderful, always friendly & professional. Kassidy at the front desk is wonderful and always so professional & kind. I had a serious dental problem, my gums were all detaching from my teeth (my teeth would move!), I had pockets all along my gumline top & bottom, some 9's, with bone loss and infections. I had previously gone to another dentist, I had deep cleanings (with no positive results) and was told the only thing that would help me was an oral surgeon. I was told that gums don't grow back without surgery & that there was nothing I could do. It was shocking to me because prior to this I had never had any serious dental problems. I felt defeated. I heard about MBD and decided to try Dr.Vane. It was the best decision I've ever made for my oral health. After a full mouth deep cleaning with laser & ozone on December 12, 2024, my oral health has drastically improved!! I went for my 2nd follow-up visit for a cleaning and measurement 5/12/25, exactly 6 months after the procedure. My results are miraculous! My four 9 pockets are all now all 3's!! I faithfully did ALL the post-procedure care that Dr.Vane suggested and 6 months later I'm still doing it. I use the StellaLife rinse, gel & probiotics every day. I take the Vit D3/K2 liquid, use the toothpaste and even the tooth brushes she recommends. I'm doing my oral care 2-3 times a day religiously. It has all been worth it!! To see my gums go from diseased to healthy in 6 months has been worth all the effort. I'm not done, I have more healing to do. I plan on continuing my routine until all my pockets are gone. And I have complete confidence that as long as I continue following Dr.Vane's instructions & maintain my daily oral care routine I WILL heal & I will have a healthy mouth again. I live in Murrieta & I drive an hour, more if there is traffic, to get to MBD. It's worth my time, energy and the gas money to get there. I'am a Moonlight Beach Dental patient for life!!!
