Ray is an excellent trainer! The personalized program we developed together based on my specific goals is accomplishing great results. I sought out a place to learn how to lift weights for two reasons. First, I am about to turn 50 and my musculoskeletal system needs to hold me up and prevent falls in the coming decades. Second, for two months prior to joining Artis, the majority of my days I battled debilitating depression. Since joining eight weeks ago, I have had only three days of difficult depression. I'm motivated to remain consistent and continue to experience strength and hope.

I'm extremely happy with this gym. It is ideal for anyone seeking fitness training with additional focus on powerlifting and weightlifting elements. The people who attend classes are delightful, friendly, and interesting, with a wide range of ages and fitness levels such that anyone would feel comfortable going here. Everything is planned and scaled exactly to suit the client, so each person has the customized experience needed to achieve their particular goals. The attention to detail in this regard is meticulous and unmatched - the coach knows exactly how to approach the workout for each person, how much weight should be added, and what adjustments to form or mobility work would help. Attention to form and fundamentals, as well as safety and injury prevention, are prioritized. All coaching is top notch, both from the primary trainer and others who do Saturday sessions. The people in class are supportive and encouraging of one another and the overall atmosphere is very laid-back. This gym offers a lot of additional opportunities and activities without being intrusive about it, and they respect that many clients are juggling a busy schedule or professional life along with commitments to fitness and nutrition. When they give advice about things like nutrition and mobility, they actually bring in nutritionists and physical therapists to offer scientific expertise. It mildly annoys me this place does not have a perfect 5.0 rating - the only person with a complaint obviously has never been here, because it is the most immaculately kept, clean gym I have ever seen in my life. They also have an associated rugby club for both boys and girls, and many of them apparently do additional training and powerlifting in the gym and are amazing. If your kid has any interest in rugby, they definitely should try it here.

If you want to work very closely with a trainer this is your place! He watches you very, very close and makes sure to avoid injury. If you feel something hurting while you work out he shows you how change your positioning.He works on nutrition, and works hard on habit development. I have avoided exercise for a long time and going to this gym makes me want to make it a regular habit.Make this a priority in your life. It will be one of the smartest things you’ve done for yourself.
