My Experience: I took my son to South Lake Karate Academy Summer Camp. It was probably one of the worst decision I've ever made. He is only six years old and needed to have someone who would make sure he would eat his lunch. My child came home with his lunch I packed not even touched a few times and there was no other food offered. I was promised that the children would receive martial arts lessons and a uniform. My child was not instructed in martial arts and never received a uniform. I was unhappy with the services and asked for a refund for classes not to be attended in the future (per the contract, if you are dissatisfied, a refund will be issued). The instructor/owner strongly refused to issue any refund and not willing to work with his customer at all. I was treated disrespectfully and poorly as I listened to excuse of the camp being reserved in full capacity, yet there is only 4-5 kids there in total and I was told there would be 12. Every time I got my child from the location, he was in a back room without any adult monitoring the children. The kids seem to play video games on their own devices while the owner sits on his phone or computer. I regret ever sending my child to this place. Due to miscommunication and misunderstanding, I was under the impression that I could change up the schedule and get full refund if we are not satisfied. However, that is not the case at all, once Chad Love receive my payments, he is on a mission to keep all to himself tight. As a full time college student major in business finance and a parent of two children, I advice the owner of South Lake Karate Academy, that is not how you do business and how you treat your customers. Parents, avoid the summer camp in this place at all costs. Less

*UPDATE* My daughter just turned 9 and she is still going to South Lake Karate. She's very proud of being able to accomplish things that she didn't think she could, like breaking boards. Also, total skill she will always have: she can out push-up anyone! Her form is great and she puts all the boys to shame on her baseball team with her form and endurance! My son has been going to this location for about 2 months. He's been doing great and really likes it. The instructors are very nice and helpful.

Brought my children here on a web special they were having at a discounted rate. When taken there they were only shown moves and stances... never were instructed about anything else other then that. They explain the concepts, theories and the mechanics properly. Did I fail to mention that the instructor is also a world class champion? You get to learn from an awesome instructor who integrates real life with martial arts concepts. I would highly recomm... More

I cannot begin to say enough about our experience at South Lake Karate Academy and the growth I have seen in my son since enrolling him. Elijah is now 11 and started training at SLKA 4 summers ago. When we first came it was to give him a way to expend some of his energy and to hopefully teach him self discipline. Not only has it done that but I have seen his focus grow as well. He has gone from a D/F student to an A/B student and has even won Student of the Month a couple of times. Prior to this training he could not sit still and would lash out at others. Teachers at his school noticed a huge difference in him about 4 months into his training and began complimenting him and asking what was making a difference in him. I highly advise any parent get your child involved in this outlet. Not only does it build Self Esteem and Self Confidence but it builds their relationships with others as well. Less
