This company was sent by America Home Shield for HVAC issues (rattling noise). I must say I am always very hesitant to use some of the contractors AHS uses. I always check reviews & was disappointed when I saw so many bad reviews for this company. However, a neighbor who is an HVAC tech told me the problem was my blower wheel. I decided to use AC Wizard to see what they would say. Jonathan was the technician who was sent out to my home on a Wednesday. He showed up on time & went straight to work. He also diagnosed my blower wheel had gone bad, he explained everything & even showed me pictures. He proceeded to change it out & the noise ceased. On Saturday, my air stopped working & the fan wouldn’t come on at all. AHS called AC Wizard, who sent Jonathan back out on Tuesday. He found that the motor needed to also be replaced & he fixed it right away. Again, Jonathan explained what happened and told me I would be good to go. I was thankful I didn’t have to wait a week or more for assistance. Thanks goodness because Texas heat is no joke! The best part is it was all covered by AHS so no additional money out of my pocket. I had an excellent experience with AC Wizard, and especially with their technician Mr. Fuller!After another contractor sent by American Home Shield told me that my blower motor was “obsolete” and could not be replaced, and tried to charge me $3,700 to replace the entire air handler, I refused to accept that diagnosis and requested a second opinion. After some back and forth with AHS, they agreed to send AC Wizard out without charging me another service fee.AC Wizard sent Mr. Fuller and he was very friendly, patient, and extremely professional from the moment he arrived. He took the time to explain what he was doing, answered my questions clearly, and was even kind and engaging with my kids, which I really appreciated.Most importantly, Mr. Fuller was able to replace the blower motor, something I was previously told could not be done. The repair was completed successfully, my heating/AC system is now working perfectly again, and I had no out-of-pocket cost beyond the standard $125 AHS service fee.This experience showed me the value of getting an honest second opinion.
