We signed up for weekly family training at Grit Obstacle Training, and our first visit was so much fun. 🎉We arrived late and missed part of the training, but the staff were welcoming and got us caught up quickly. Kurt was fantastic throughout the entire visit. He guided us through the obstacles, kept things moving, answered questions, and managed our large family group without making us feel rushed. One of my favorite things was that the kids got to choose many the obstacles they wanted us to try. They immediately tried everything that looked challenging without thinking about their mama at all. 😂The first thing we did was walk in and immediately start wall sits. No warm-up, no easing into it... just straight into wall sits! Lol.Then we were handed a 30-pound medicine ball. I passed mine down to my 11-year-old daughter, who looked at it like she was questioning all of her life choices, but she carried it and did great. 😂The obstacle course itself was so much fun. We tried monkey bars, hand stands, climbing obstacles, rope climbing, medicine ball carries, and the warped wall. I was actually surprised when I made it up the rock climbing wall on my first try.The monkey bars were another surprise because I hadn't done them since I was a kid, but muscle memory apparently kicked in and I got across them quickly; I did way better than I expected. Lol.The warped wall was where I hesitated. Everyone else was flying through obstacles while I was overthinking it. 🤣The kids absolutely loved everything. One of my daughters completed the course wearing unicorn boots, which made the whole thing even funnier. My husband was the real obstacle-course champion of the family. At one point he launched himself off an obstacle, something grabbed his pants and ripped them, exposing the back of his thigh. 😂😂😂Most people would have called it a day after that, but he just kept going and finished the obstacle anyway. The atmosphere was energetic, encouraging, and family-friendly. Everyone we interacted with was kind and supportive, and it felt like a place where beginners could have fun without feeling intimidated.By the end of the visit, we were tired, laughing, and already looking forward to coming back.If you're looking for something different than a traditional gym and want an activity the whole family can enjoy together, I highly recommend checking out Grit Obstacle Training. ❤️ Our entire family had a great time.
