First of all... their beef randang and their salted egg chicken rice... ugh, so flavorful and delicious!!! It was the end of our trip, so we were just next door doing some laundry. We weren't expecting anything but a convenient lunch, but it turned out we found a hidden gem. The owners/chef were so kind and hospitable too. We laughed because we thought the most memorable meal on our east coast trip would be the chowder we had, but it's actually the meals we ate here! We hope to be back again 🩷

Genuinely impressed by the food at Hawker Buns. My girlfriend and I stopped in here before flying back home.We were greeted by the owner who took the time to talk to us about all the dishes and his history in the industry. It was warm and welcoming and pleasant experience. Sheila was fantastic and also took the time to talk to us about our vacation and ask how the food was.The food was incredible to say the least and honestly doesn’t even begin to describe how great and delicious each dish was. I had the salted egg chicken rice and my girlfriend had the beef rendang with rice. Both were fantastic.I wish I ate at this place sooner on our vacation because I’d gladly go back and try everything on the menu. Unfortunately I’m flying back to Calgary shortly. What an incredibly pleasant surprise to end the vacation.I would eat here every single day if I could.Came to the east coast for the seafood, wanted to stay for the salted egg chicken.

We’re from Calgary visiting Halifax for a weekend and decided to try this place as it looked authentic. Everything was fantastic! We really don’t have anything equivalent in Calgary.Owner and chef worked in Singapore for 10 years before moving here.We got the laksa, salted egg chicken, hainanese rice, and teh C/teh Tarik. Everything was delicious, authentic, and flavourful. Definitely one of our favourite meals in Halifax, and we will definitely miss it having to leave back to Calgary.Give it a try!

Finally found the time to try this place out this evening after work. Food is excellent and the service is super friendly, looks like I just found a good reason to go to Bedford other than record stores.👍
