Captain Sam and Cliff are simply the best from the cleanliness of the boat to the care and concern they provided. They took me to places I’ve never snorkeled at although I’ve been snorkeling here many times. The small size of the group is especially important. You get very personalized care. Captain Sam puts you on the best spots and Mikena will guide you on the reefs or assist you if you decide on a self guided experience. One of the absolute best parts of the Manta Ray NIght Snorkel was going in early before sunset to check your equipment and get familiar with the area. We saw the Manta Rays skimming along together before it was dark! Super comfortable 6 passenger zodiac with seating and fantastic crew! We had so much fun with Mid-Pacific that now we want to come back for a Whale Watching Tour.

We had an amazing experience with Mid-Pacific Tours! We joined their pelagic wildlife tour and were lucky enough to see a pod of pilot whales and a shark — definitely one of the highlights of our Big Island trip.We booked the tour just one day in advance, and they were incredibly helpful and accommodating in making everything work for us. We really appreciated how thoughtful and responsive they were from the very beginning.Both of our guides were so friendly, knowledgeable, and experienced. They made us feel safe and comfortable the entire time while sharing a lot about the marine life we encountered. We had the most amazing experience with Sam and Cliff on the manta ray night snorkel. This honestly was one of the most incredible things I have ever done in my life. My family of four, including my two teenage sons, were the only people on the excursion. The personal attention from Sam and Cliff could not be beat. We absolutely would do this again if we ever come back to the Big Island. I highly recommend Mid-Pacific Tours. You will not be disappointed!!

I have been coming to the Hawaiian islands since I was 5yo. And on my 30th return to the islands can now say that taking my family with a 6yo novice snorkler and my wife on a Mid-Pacific night Manta Ray snorkel tour is the highlight of all my adventures in the Hawaiian islands. Cliff and Sam were total pros and so patient and hospitable with my family. Their boat and equipment top notch. Their wet suits and equipment made us completely comfortable. After an evening warm up snorkel it was time to grab their floating light station, and the show was mind blowing! The lights attracted the plankton and an explosion of hundreds of thousands of bait fish followed by dozens of Mantas after the fish. You don’t just see Mantas. You have to do all you can to avoid getting brushed, bumped, or swatted by them as they glide past and roll upside down time and again to get their dinner. Best experience in the ocean of our lives and best experience we have ever had in Hawaii. Thank you, Mid-Pacific! And we will be back next time we visit the Big island. MLG
