We could probably write a short novella about working with Stefan Magazin. We met him when we were looking to move from our downtown Arlington Heights urban condo to a place with a little more green space and quiet. Why? Because we got a dog. And while an urban jungle downtown environment was great for us and the cat who owns us? Not so great for the pup. Actually, Zillow set us up with Stefan based on an initial look-see at a condo property in the Rob Roy subdivision in Mt. Prospect. That property wasn't the best for us, but within a week or two? Stefan had found several homes that could fit our needs. But y'know why he's different than many other real estate agents? He listens. And he asks a lot of questions about what your plans are not only for a move-in but are you ready to rehab? Do you want something turn-key? His background in construction enables him to give his buyers an idea of what has to be done (sooner vs. later) and what would be nice to be done. And so, yes. Stefan helped us find our new home. And we love it. Aha. But THEN. We needed to sell our old home. Honestly, it's a great space. And during the time we lived there? We upgraded so much. Add to the mix that from the time we closed on the new property and we're trying to sell the old property? We were on a 12-day cruise in Europe. But y'know what? As our selling agent now, Stefan didn't blink an eye. He worked across the crazy time zone differences to let us know about showings and open houses, and feedback. When we hit a bit of a snag due to the market conditions, he talked with us about options, what to consider, and ultimately, helped us make the decision that our best course of action was to show the condo empty, so potential buyers could see their lives inside the unit. He uses social media, his networks, his colleagues, whatever is in his tool chest to ensure, if you are selling, you get the best offer that you can. And we did. We have bought and sold properties over 8 times, and while all of our real estate agents have been great? Stefan is amazing. Plus we fell in love with his daughter. Set that aside as an anecdote.
