After four months of having a total knee replacement I was experiencing tightness and pain in my muscles in the area of the surgery around the knee. Even though I had 12 weeks of post surgery physical therapy I was not getting better with recovery. I was doing water aerobics three times a week and my exercises from post surgery but still not reaching my goals. I was introduced to Jerad Arendt, DPT, CEAS and Dr. Jerad was very helpful in my recovery. He took the time to explain why my knee and muscles were tight and worked with me to set up the right exercises and workout sessions that I needed to do to regain my ability to stretch my muscles, quads, piriformis and hamstrings. He also did dry needling in my lower back and the muscles around my knee that had the replacement surgery. He listed to my concerns and offered suggestions and was very supportive to my wellbeing. I know that this is a continued practice on my part to continue with these exercises to help build my strength and ability to feel stronger and confident. I’m very thankful to Dr. Jerad and would highly recommend him to anyone who needs guidance in their recovery from surgery or injury.
