Monticello Family Dental

I hadn’t been to the dentist in… well over 3 years. And I hadn’t had a cleaning in even longer. The last dental appointment I had before this one was honestly pretty traumatic, so it took a broken, abscessed tooth to finally force me through the doors of Monticello Family Dental. Not exactly the glamorous return to dentistry I had imagined.I won’t waste your time on every detail (because attention spans), but the moment I walked in I felt welcome. From the front desk, to the hygienist’s assistant, to the dental hygienist, and of course Dr. Ward—everyone was so kind it was honestly suspicious. Like… are these people secretly angels? After my X-rays and gum check, instead of shaming me for my questionable dental life choices, they were actually excited to help me start getting my gums and teeth healthy again. And somehow that excitement rubbed off on me because I walked out thinking, “Wait… why am I excited to come back to the dentist?” I genuinely questioned my sanity for a moment. And the care didn’t feel fake at all—you know how some places give off that forced “customer service voice”? This didn’t feel like that. It literally felt like going to a friend’s house… if your friend happened to own a bunch of dental tools and enjoy looking at your molars.I went back today to have the tooth extracted and a bone graft done, and everything went flawlessly. Even the “worst part”—the numbing shots—weren’t bad. Which is saying something because normally I would consider moving to another state to avoid those.Next up is my deep cleaning, and for the first time in my life I’m not even scared about my next dental appointment. Who am I??I will happily sing Monticello Family Dental’s praises to anyone who will listen. They got me in quickly, worked around my schedule, and somehow turned this very dental-anxious 37-year-old(who’s old dental routine was brush, floss occasionally and avoid eye contact with dentists) into someone who actually wants to go to the dentist and take better care of my teeth!10/10. Would absolutely recommend—even if your tooth has to drag you there kicking and screaming like mine did.
