I’m a 72 year old male who has cancer and the Chemotherapy caused me to get neuropathy and foot drop within the last year in both of my feet and legs. I could barely walk and was in physical therapy for 5 months. While in physical therapy I was fitted for and had to get braces on both of my legs to assist me with walking and lift the front of my feet so I wouldn’t trip.Looking for anything that helps I ran across Renew Health & Wellness and Dr Mike G.He approached me about “stimpod” treatments in an effort to stimulate my muscles for my legs. I had 12 treatments over a 6 week timeframe.I went back to physical therapy a few weeks ago and my physical therapists are now telling me that whatever I’m doing to keep it up because I’ve improved to the point of not needing to wearing my braces full time and walking somewhat normally. I can walk without my feet “flopping” for roughly 2 blocks. My ankle flexibility & leg strength have improved greatly. I now go to my local gym and walk without the braces around the track for roughly 1 mile. My legs get extremely tired from the 1 mile walk but it’s that feel good kinda of tired. Prior to this, I walked 1.5 miles with the leg braces on and wouldn’t get that feeling.I’ve also had to increase the amount of weight I use on leg press, leg extension and leg curls by roughly 10 pounds because it got too easy on the lower weights I was using.. And it’s been only a few weeks post stimpod treatments.Dr Mike and his staff are professional and friendly. I’d recommend Renew Health & Wellness to anyone trying to strengthen muscles or overcoming injuries. The stimpod treatments have helped me greatly!
