An absolute dream come true! Patagonia Dreams was beyond anything I could have imagined. From start to finish, everything was perfectly organized. I cannot say enough great things about this trip taken with 19 adventurous women. We started off in Buenos Aires where we sampled local cuisine at a wonderful Argentinian dinner experience the first night we were all together. From then on, we were on the move for 9 days site-seeing, hiking, camping, glacier hopping and wildlife-watching in El Chalten, El Calafate, and Ushuaia. This trip afforded us so many opportunities to experience the natural beauty that Patagonian has in spades. Kook was organized and always available if needed. She kept us informed of what we needed for our adventures, kept us on schedule, and kept us apprised of any changes to the itinerary. The weather was variable but we were well-prepared, thanks to Kook's gear recommendations. The local guides Kook hired for our hikes were knowledgeable and personable and we learned as much about the areas we were visiting as we did about the local culture. My trip to Patagonia with Kook's Wild Ride was an unforgettable and incredible experience that provided a perfect mix of fun, adventure and cultural experiences. We started the trip with one of the best culinary experiences I have had in my life, where we learned about and tried the best of Argentinian food. The next day, our eyes were opened to the diversity of Buenes Aires on a city tour with a personable and knowledgeable guide. We then flew to Calafate, in the heart of Patagonia, where I instantly felt at home in the crisp air with mountains and a turquoise glacial lake just off the runway. Our guide on the bus ride to El Chalten filled us with fascinating information about the history and biodiversity of the area. The next day we headed to base camp and turned lemons into lemonade when rain and wind curtailed our full day hiking plan and we had a full day at camp, where we played games and bonded with the other women through conversation and laughter. The following day, we successfully made it to Laguna de los Tres, the highlight of the trip. It was incredible to watch how each woman supported the other women, offering encouragement each step. We were rewarded by stunning views of the glacial lakes with snow covered Mount Fitz Roy looming majestically behind. The adventure-filled trip led us to Glacier trekking on Perito Moreno the next day. What an amazing experience to hike on the slick ice over a gorgeous glacier filled with every color of blue you can imagine. Our trip wrapped up with a last flight to Ushuaia, where we hiked and rafted through Tierra del Fuego National Park before a boat ride up the Beagle Channel to Faro Les Eclaireurs lighthouse, surrounded by sea lions and imperial cormorants .Kook was a strong leader through all of the fun and adventure. She was patient and kind, making everyone feel like they were an important member of our team. It was so nice to sit back and enjoy the trip while Kook handled the logistics. She provided briefings and clear expectations for each of the day's activities. She took feedback and questions and made decisions for the good of the group. The trip to Patagonia was life-changing and epic. The vistas were absolutely stunning. I’ve never seen water so blue in my life. Everything was so clean. You could drink out of the mountain streams. The hike up to el Chalten was challenging, but doing it with the group made it manageable. Kook was an amazing trip leader. She had everything planned so perfectly. There’s no way I could’ve done a trip like this myself, but Kook had everything arranged so beautifully. I feel like it was a surreal experience to be in Patagonia and I will not soon forget it. I just wrapped up an incredible trip to South Africa with Kook’s Wild Ride (KWR), and I can confidently say it was one of the most seamless, adventurous, and rewarding travel experiences I’ve had.Our group had 10 people (I was the only guy, which was actually pretty funny), and everyone was between 24-31 years old. The group dynamic was amazing—super friendly, no drama, just a bunch of like-minded people excited to explore.The itinerary was perfectly balanced between adventure and relaxation. We started in Cape Town, then made our way along the Garden Route, stopping for scenic breaks, snacks, and coffees along the way.The accommodations were comfortable, and I really enjoyed experiencing different places rather than being in one spot the whole time.One highlight was trying authentic African cuisine, including ostrich, at a cultural dinner—definitely a unique experience with a lot of great energy.KWR does an incredible job of making travel effortless. Everything was well-planned, yet there was still flexibility to enjoy the moments.Every day was packed with action, adventure, and incredible views, and by night, I was completely wiped out in the best way possible. Watching sunsets, sharing laughs, and toasting to new experiences became part of the daily routine.If you love meeting new people, immersing yourself in nature and culture, and having a trip where everything is organized for you (but without feeling toooo rigid), KWR is 100% the way to go.Be prepared for some solid hikes and plenty of fun along the way. My wife and I anticipated our tour of India would be amazing. It turned out to be nothing like what we expected. Instead, it exceeded our greatest hope for what a trip might be. That is the gift India, its people, and our amazing hosts, Kaleigh McAndrews (“Kook”) and her company, Kook’s Wild Ride (U.S.), shared with our group of 22. It’s a gift we’ll carry in our hearts forever! A heartfelt, emphatic thank you to Kook, Kook’s Wild Ride, Kook’s in-country partner, Seven Wonder Tours (India), and the many other amazing souls who made our trip so special. Despite India’s numerous and varied cultural, social, and faith traditions — and 1.4 billion-person population — we encountered nothing but warm welcomes and loving smiles everywhere we went. A wonderful, dignified calmness of spirit prevailed everywhere we visited and with everyone we met. Throughout our tour, Kook, Abhinav and Shankar (of Seven Wonder Tours), TL (our first-week guide), and our other in-country hosts shared their enthusiastic pride in and knowledge of the dozens of remarkable historic, religious, and geographic sites we visited. They also helped us with menu selections as we dined on India’s delicious cuisine. For her part, Kook masterfully choreographed 12 amazing days that included immersive cultural/historic, spiritual, and nature/outdoor excursion phases. With her gift of a genuine “human touch,” Kook and her fellow hosts also created a beautiful, familial sense of oneness among the members of our group. Our trip to Nepal was nothing short of life-changing. The immersion and education of the culture of Nepal, including Hindu and Buddhist traditions was nothing I ever dreamed of experiencing. Kook’s Wild Ride created an itinerary that perfectly blended culture with nature with spirituality. All of our transport and accommodations were taken care of and the only thing we ever had to worry about was fully experiencing everything Nepal has to offer. We visited temples, explored the cities of Kathmandu and Pokhara, and did a four-day trek through the Himalayas. This was a dream trip and there was no one better and more qualified to lead it other than Kaleigh. Kaleigh is the most accommodating, welcoming host that anyone could wish for. My time in Nepal was extremely special, reflective, spiritual, and it was all because of Kook! I plan on going on the next Kook’s Wild Ride trip; if you are looking for a trip to a place you probably wouldn’t have otherwise explored; and travel that will change the way you see and experience the world around you, you should, too. I went on the 4 day Labor Day weekend trip with Kook’s Wild Ride and it was truly a magical weekend! Kaleigh does a phenomenal job of incorporating nature, adventure, reflections and local food and sights into her trips. The trip was a perfect balance of organization/adherence to the schedule so we could see/do the most, while also allowing spontaneity and free time to explore, have conversations and connect with one another. I loved how each morning before leaving our campsite we started the day with a reflection, intention, quote or meditation to help us guide our experience for the day. This particular trip with Uncle Kook’s was one to remember! I have also been on other trips with Kaleigh before the formal birth of Uncle Kook’s Wild Ride, and I cannot speak high enough of how Kaleigh makes a point to connect to the local cultures of where we are traveling, encourages us to get out of our comfort zones (Hello cliff jumping at Crater Lake!! Hello trying a local, grilled mopani worm in Zimbabwe!!), and facilitates connecting deeper with ourselves, with each other and with nature. If you have the opportunity to go on an Uncle Kook’s adventure, you won’t regret it!! ! Being a beginner camper I was a little nervous going in – but Kook’s experience, attitude and inclusiveness made me feel super comfortable! Everything was well thought out and executed.
