As a 57-year-old Realtor, I spend my days constantly on the go, but after rupturing my Achilles and being away from exercise for several years, getting back into fitness felt like a much bigger challenge than I expected. Add in the changes that come with life after menopause, and I found myself getting in my head and questioning whether I could really get back to feeling strong, capable, and confident in my body again. Then I came across Scott Beall's gym and started reading the reviews. Something about the positive experiences people shared made me feel like he was going to be the right fit for me — and I’m so glad I trusted that feeling.Weight training has become something I genuinely enjoy, and I feel stronger and more confident because of the guidance and encouragement I receive. Scott is patient, knowledgeable, and always makes sure exercises are appropriate for where I am while still challenging me to improve. He understands that coming back from an injury, several years away from activity, and navigating a changing body after menopause takes time. He meets me where I am while encouraging me to discover what I’m still capable of.What I appreciate most is the positive, supportive environment. I never feel intimidated or uncomfortable, and I’m encouraged to celebrate progress rather than focus on perfection. Instead of feeling discouraged by the changes in my body, I’m learning to appreciate what my body can do and to build strength for the years ahead.Little by little, I’m becoming more confident, and I’m genuinely excited to increase my activity and continue getting stronger. One of my biggest goals is to be able to work out alongside my 17- and 14-year-old sons with confidence — something I never would have imagined when I first walked through the doors.I’m incredibly grateful to have found a trainer who has helped make strength training feel achievable, empowering, and enjoyable at this stage of my life. At 57, I’m learning that getting stronger isn’t about trying to be the person I was years ago — it’s about becoming the strongest, healthiest, and most confident version of who I am now.If you’re thinking about getting back into exercise but feel intimidated, out of shape, or unsure where to start, I truly can’t recommend this experience enough!
