Please be cautious with Black Horse Concrete Coatings. I contracted with them back in October to resurface my concrete driveway and worked directly with the owner, David Benjamin. He seems like a very likable individual and will come across as someone who would go out of his way to earn your business. However, his approach to business is concerning. He left my driveway in a mess. After grinding off the old paint, prepping the surface—which only involved sweeping off the dust—and applying two coats of paint within a week, the paint began to lift. After several weeks of attempting to reach a resolution, someone he subcontracts with to do his work lightly sanded the driveway and applied two additional coats of paint. However, the paint continued to lift because the surface was not prepared correctly before the first coat was applied. When the paint lifts, it takes all four layers with it, exposing the original concrete underneath (pictures below). Even a simple garden hose can remove the paint. According to the contract, a moisture barrier coat was supposed to be applied first, but was not and he has avoided answering why or for that matter any concerns. I have attempted to contact David Benjamin multiple times, but I have not received a response. If you choose to use this business, I sincerely hope you do not encounter any issues, as you may find that David is not what he seems. This company was great when it was time to get the job, they were punctual and always available. However my garage floor were done less than a year ago and the floor is peeling. I have called them more than multiple times for them to come and repair it, I always get the same response, that they are very busy and don't have someone around my area and that they will let me know.BE AWARE they do not honor their warranty.
