First let me say I have owned a handgun for over 40 years and I took this class specifically for getting my concealed carry license. My experience was simple, best money I ever spent. Joseph Yagar at Executive Gun went through everything in a ordered, systematic, and easy to follow manner. Proof of that is that when it was time to shoot 5 rounds at the target I did so using a brand new Sig P365 that I had never fired a single round with and the results, first shot was still a 10, but the next 4 were all within about 3 inches of each other at about 20 feet. I'd say I was taught well. The life fire class at executive gun was great! Joe did a great job explaining everything thoroughly and in an understandable manner. He was also very welcoming to a gun rookie, like myself, and made sure that I was comfortable throughout the process. Wow. I wanted to get certified to be able to get a concealed permit and have the confidence and knowledge to carry safely and I didn’t know much about anything other than I wanted to protect my family, so I came to Joe for a class. I went in feeling unsure and was a little nervous to say the least. As soon as he shook my hand and started talking I was instantly calmer, like meeting a friend you hadn’t seen in a while… With teaching thousands of people and to have that kind of enthusiasm and kindness is insane to me. He definitely loves his career and loves teaching that much is evident. His team is highly professional and I never was made to feel embarrassed or uneducated. I left with a great foundation to expand on as the road is very long and I’m certain I made the correct choice. I never thought I would have that kind of experience.

What a great experience! Would give 6/5 if Google allowed it. Went in with my wife for a private lesson with Joe. My wife had not really shot before and wasn’t comfortable with the idea. Joe was able to help us get relaxed. Outlined just what to expect. Was humorous along the way even while being very thorough in teaching the fundamentals of handling and shooting safely. Did not expect to leave today with my wife saying she thoroughly enjoyed it! I would highly recommend a class with Joe, whether you are a regular shooter or just starting out and have any anticipation about it.Additionally, if you ever get a chance to read the book Split Second Decisions:Shoot or don’t Shoot, by Joseph Yagar and Ryan Thomas, I would highly recommend you get a copy. So well written with real life examples and simple explanations of right vs. wrong.

Joe was very knowledgeable and experienced. He helped me improve my shot and treated our Beginners Guide to Fire Arms range session with seriousness and ease. As someone who has not been to a range in a few years, I felt safe and I knew he was confident in my ability to focus and attention to safety.

Joe was very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. It was my first time handling a firearm, and I left feeling much about better about gun safety and improving my skills over time. I completed the Beginner's Guide program and the Concealed Carry Permit, and will also be seeing him at the range 5 additional times.
