Shortly after I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease I discovered Darbe Schlosser’s Motorvation USA post on Facebook. I checked it out, then my husband and I did a Zoom session with her. We were impressed with the fact that on that free session we gained good information about how to deal with this new and scary medical condition. We were convinced her mental/physical approach not only made sense, but would compliment and enhance everything we were already doingOn April 28th I had my first session and became more convinced of the value with every one I did. Darbe’s guided exercise program, designed especially for my individual medical needs, combined with an ingenious use of the memorization of the twenty-one digits of Pi to re-train my brain and out-smart the ravages of PD.I can think of two vitally important aspects of working with Darbe; first and foremost, is the personal nature of what Darbe and her coaches do in the personal sessions. If something doesn’t work well for me changes are made, either on the spot or by the next session to make it work for me.Secondly, it was quickly obvious that Darbe understood Parkinson’s, and how to combat it with training and exercise in her “Think and Move Well” program rather than depending solely on medicines.I also appreciated so much, Darbe’s positive attitude (mirrored as well in her coaches). She/they were always encouraging in such a way that I wanted to do better, and therefore did find the ability to do what I needed to do.At the same time I worked with Darbe I also worked with neck therapists, in the Community Hospital system and was constantly involved with the Rock Steady Boxing group. Darbe was supportive of them as well and suggested exercise/Pi mental combinations to compliment what I did with them.I’m not well yet, but my progress is significant and noted by friends and family. I expect to continue to use Motorvation USA’s “Think and Move Well” program training to keep and build on what I learned and build on the progress I’ve made.
