I have spent years telling my kiddos they couldn’t do things with their hair, because I wanted them to have long and beautiful hair. I’ve used every excuse, response, and flat out just stuck to NO. Social conditioning had gotten the best of me.. until yesterday. My youngest struggles, and has absolute sensory overload. Most mornings are out right awful, fight, after fight, she won’t allow me to style her hair any longer. My cute little baby girl, refuses to let me even put it up. Absolute tantrums about it touching her face and neck, and yet, she won’t let me put it up?! Explain that! Well, she said mommy, I know you let me cut it to my shoulders, but I want a real hair cut.She explained she was afraid kids were gonna make fun of her, but she doesn’t want her hair! Finally, after yet again, trying to talk her out of everything… and even getting her to agree to meet me in the middle, she said she would try it longer, and we’d slowly, go shorter and shorter until it was where she liked it….Sharkeys popped up across my FB, and I made her an appt. Went in, and let me tell you when I’ve never experienced an atmosphere like this, is just like… wow!! Like, I don’t have the words! Sooo welcoming, so clean, so cute and fun!Patricia, helped my baby girl, and made her so cozy, showed her around the salon, encouraged use of the chalk wall if she wanted, asked if she wanted a drink, and let her fidget with the stuff around the shop to get cozy. She showed her all the spaces available to sit in, and my kiddo chose the one she wanted. Patricia, made her soooo comfortable. Asked all the right questions and engaged so well. She listened to my baby, and I also explained I was partial to her hair, and I didn’t want to see it go, but it was really important to her, so wanted to give her to go ahead.. She was so helpful, and bright, and her personality was so nice. I went to the chalk wall to draw my kiddo a supportive surprise for after, and My baby, absolutely loves her hair! After her cut, she washed it, and she let her pick a bow; and let her put it wherever she wanted lol. And then painted her nails at the paint station! She got a cool tattoo, and a balloon on a stick, and was able to pick a charity with the coin.. 100/10!! Top tier experience! Can’t wait for my spouse to come do the mom and child cut her with the next time!!
