OMG...I wish we had done this years ago! We basically did not have a back yard with the woods & thorny underbrush so close to the house & now it is completely opened up. Love it. Matt from Whitetail Forestry did a fantastic job. Already envisioning low mow options like white clover for the deer, maybe some fescue & of course spring blooming bulbs. Price was reasonable. They mulched abt an acre of woods for me. See attached for some b4 & after pics.

We had an excellent experience with Whitetail Forestry and would highly recommend them to anyone looking to have their woods cleared.Brian came out and provided a free quote. He was very knowledgeable, polite, and easy to work with. Once we decided to move forward, Matt, the operator, showed up exactly when promised and even called 30 minutes ahead to let us know he was on his way.Matt did an outstanding job clearing our overgrown hillside, including some pretty steep areas that he navigated like a pro. We were quoted for eight hours of work, and that's exactly what we received. He started the machine at 8:00 a.m. and worked straight through until 4:00 p.m. without taking a break. His work ethic and dedication were impressive. When he finished, Matt walked the property with me to make sure we were happy with the results. We were very pleased with the work and the entire experience, from the initial quote to the finished product. If you're looking for a professional, reliable company that takes pride in their work, I highly recommend Whitetail Forestry. We'll definitely be recommending them to others!

We recently had our back acreage cleared of buckthorn and hung up/ widow maker trees. Scooter and Dan from Whitetail Forestry did a great job overall. We are very happy with the end result. Quick response and estimate by Charlie after our initial inquiry. We would highly recommend them without reservation!

A very professional job. I only had about 1.5 acres cleared but it went fast and looks just like I was hoping. Thanks Mr. Whitetail

I highly recommend this company. Communication was excellent from start to finish. Charlie took the time to understand my expectations, provided a quote on the spot, and scheduled the work. Tyler was equally professional, explaining the process and keeping me updated throughout. Great communication, quality work, and a very professional team. Couldn’t be happier!

Whitetail Forestry did an excellent job assisting the Village with the creation of a path along the Sugar River. The area was very overgrown and the access that was provided will be enjoyed by many as a public place. The price was very reasonable for the work completed. Numerous staff noted how the operator really opened up some nice areas so it was just not making a path but really opened up the area for the public to prioritize the Sugar River and surrounding areas. Thanks for all the help.

Whitetail Forestry didn’t just get the job done, they did it with professionalism and demonstrated a care for our land as if it were their own. We were fortunate to work with the Tylers… and I’d have them both back for lunch! Good humans, good work, go get ‘em and get the job done!

We have just under 24 acres in Baraboo, WI that we purchased 2 years ago. We needed our trails widened and cleared on about 8. From the first contact to make an appointment to the following day after our job was complete, we had very clear communication with all employees and they made the process so simple. First we met with Charlie who walked the property with us to get a scope of work. Then the forester in charge of our project was one of their newer employees Tyler (Scooter) who we can not say enough good things about. He was friendly, polite, professional and also was great at communicating. He was knowledgeable about the land and actually cared about what we wanted to accomplish with also taking into consideration what would be best for the wildlife on our property. The owner Ray was also very prompt with any responses to our questions. With the work that was done so far, it gave new life to our property and we feel like we can start enjoying it again. We didn't realize how much of an improvement this could make to your land. I hope to be able to have them come back soon for phase 2 !!! If you are considering getting work like this done, we would highly recommend this company and would give each one of them a 5+ star rating.......Ray, Charlie and TylerThank you again, Debbie and Rich (Baraboo, WI)

From start to finish, the communication was excellent! Tyler, the operator, did a fantastic job. I really appreciated Ray, the owner, being involved and actively seeking feedback while keeping me updated throughout the process. I would highly recommend their services!

I had Whitetail Forestry clear land at my tree nursery and in our woods. They cleared buckthorn, box elder and thousands of Arborvitae that we used for propagation. They were professional throughout the whole process. Within 5 days of first contact they came out and walked our land and gave us an estimate. By that evening they had scheduled our project. They came on the day scheduled and worked for 9 straight hours and got all the work done and more. The operator, Tyler, was professional, friendly and skilled. They are always available by phone, email or text. The process of the estimate, scheduling and billing is a good system. I will recommend them to anyone who needs land and woods clearing.

Ray and his whole team are easy to work with, honest and truly care that the customer is happy and that the job is done right. This last spring they cleared 4 acres of unwanted burdock, and other overgrowth that we intend to turn into horse pasture. I highly recommend them.

Whitetail Forestry did a great job on our property, it looks so much better. Eric showed up on time and worked hard for 2 days. We will have them back to do more work.

When I first reached out, I spoke with the owner, Ray, about what we wanted done on our property. We have about 5½ acres, and roughly 3 of those acres were unusable due to overgrown brush, buckthorn, and unwanted trees. It felt overwhelming trying to tackle it ourselves, so we were looking for help to reclaim and actually enjoy more of our land.Ray recommended starting with an 8-hour day, and Eric—the machine operator who came out to our property—got to work. After seeing what he accomplished in just those first 8 hours, we were blown away and immediately scheduled another full day two days later. Watching that machine work so efficiently was honestly mesmerizing! In just those two days, Eric cleared everything we had hoped for—and more. We’ve now scheduled a third day to have him move the mulch piles, remove stumps, and disc the land to finish it off.We truly can’t stop looking at our property now. What used to feel overwhelming is now open, usable land that we can enjoy and maintain. Eric accomplished more in those two days than we ever thought possible with our own equipment.Ray’s communication was excellent throughout the entire process, and Eric’s work exceeded all expectations. We would absolutely hire Whitetail Forestry again in a heartbeat and highly recommend them to anyone looking for this type of work. This project lifted a huge weight off our shoulders—thank you so much!

Staff provided a quote very quickly. Staff was professional and did a great job. I know it’s kind of hard to see how over grown it was and it’s a different time of year but its cleared and looks great!!! Would recommend and would use them for other projects.

Eric did a great job clearing our land of honeysuckle and buckthorn overgrowth. Before staring he made sure he understood what specific plants / areas we did and did not want cleared. He left our property exactly as we hoped, highly recommend these folks!

Whitetail is the best out there! From the 1st on site visit Ray was on time and walked the project through thoroughly and put a detailed plan and budget. The day that we started the project.Doug showed up on time and worked non stop and worked like a surgeon not disturbing the mature trees and carved out trails and cleared brush out perfectly leaving a clean level trail. He worked non stop and finish the project under budget! This was the 1st project they did for me, since this went so well I am in the work to plan a major project that will also include site prep and planting.

We needed an acre or so cleared for food plots on our heavily wooded land. Called Ray, he was very nice to talk to and the communication was great throughout this process. We met Doug at our land for a walk around and a quote. He came a week later and did a fantastic job. He knew exactly what we wanted (even better than we did) and delivered on his promises. He knows his way around that machine and the tree species. He cleaned up the area very nicely and was very pleasant to work with. We felt like we were friends by the time he left. Thank you Ray and Doug for running a great business and making easy for us to schedule and get the payment made online. We will definitely call you again if we need you. Whitetail Forestry gets 5 stars from us.

We have used the team at Whitetail Forestry multiple times on our property. They had to clear out about half an acre of buckthorn, cut down several trees, mulch them and then scrape the ground to prevent regrowth. Ray, Dawson, Doug, Dan and Christina were all great to work with. You can count on an honest and hard-working crew that will do their best to get the job done on time and with high quality. Their prices are fair and transparent. Although the complexity of our job meant that things took a little longer than we would have ideally liked, we were happy to support this wonderful local business. Highly recommended!

We have a very long property against woods that had encroached over the years. Dawson with Whitetail Forestry turned it into mulch within two hours. There is a patch of elms that he managed to wiggle in and out of without harming the trees. We've gain 8 to 10 feet of our lawn back from invasive buckthorn. Along the way, Dawson was great about calling when he had a cancellation and coming about a week after we first contacted him. The price was cheaper than the goat farm I looked into, too. And since it was all turned into mulching, using a small machine, I still feel good environmentally.

Love. Love. Love. This service was wonderful. Communication was great. Timely. Done extremely well. Would not hesitate to contact them again and encourage others to. Five stars and beyond.

We are extremely happy with the work that Whitetail Forestry did for us. They were on time, kept us informed and were very professional.

Doug did a great job clearing out our pasture fence line. Thank you!!

2025-08-07T13:49:21.763Z

So glad I asked for a quote. Courteous, professional, reasonably priced. So happy with my newly cleared fence line. I am surrounded by trees on 3 sides and the buckthorn and other invasives were making it impossible to mow close to the fence. They also removed several stumps in my pastures. 10/10. Highly recommend.

They did exactly what I wanted and thorough cleanup of long overgrown areas, brought back the beauty that I remembered. Reasonable, efficient and am looking forward to the next phase of my project. Would highly recommend them. Thank you to you and your team.

Ray and Doug are great to work with and we are so happy with the results that Whitetail Forestry brought to our property! We are in Lake County, Illinois and bought our land 5 years ago and have tried to get a handle of the Buckthorn near the house but still had close to 2 acres of just buckthorn. Doug gave us back a piece of our yard that was so overwhelming to do by hand. The field of buckthorn would be nearly impossible to do with chainsaws but their machine ripped right through it! Thank you Whitetail Forestry!

2025-07-11T19:25:42.202Z

Whitetail Forestry did an awesome job and didn’t price college me. Dawson created a dirt bike-4wheeler Girl trail on my four acre wooded lot. Dawson went above and beyond his job requirement. I can’t recommend them high enough. Thank you Ray and Dawson🤗

2025-07-03T22:19:34.312Z

Ray and Dawson both arrived when they said, completed all work in the budgeted time, without any surprises. Rain caused a delay, and they promptly rescheduled. We changed the scope of the project in the middle, and they happily accommodated our additional request. I would recommend Whitetail Forestry to anyone looking for land clearing services. Will surely keep them in mind if our areas get out of hand again. Thanks gents!
