I cannot say enough incredible things about Kris Tait with Canine Moxy Dog Training. Our rescue, Sunni's Animal Missions in Canyon Lake, Texas, has been truly blessed to work with him on so many dogs who just needed understanding, guidance, and a chance. Most recently, Kris helped us with Maddi, a deaf Pitbull who had been completely misunderstood. Her previous family gave up on her, and when I was contacted, I immediately knew we needed someone special--so I reached out to Kris. We had an amazing deaf couple interested in adopting Maddi, but there were challenges. Their resident Pitbull was not accepting her at first, and we knew this transition had to be handled carefully and correctly. kris stepped in and worked with all of us through multiple meetings and introductions, patiently guiding the process. What truly stood out was Kris's deep understanding of dog behavior and his commitment to communication--not just with the dogs, but with the people. He even brought in a sign language interpreter to ensure the adopters felt fully supported and confident. That level of dedication is rare. Because of Kris,everything came together. Today, I receive updates of sweet Maddi living her absolute best life--swimming, playing, and thriving in a loving home with her new family and canine siblings. This is why training matters. So many dogs are mislabeled or given up on, when in reality they just need someone who understands them and can help others do the same. Without proper guidance, too many of these dogs end up euthanized--and it doesn't have to be that way. Kris has a gift. You can see it in the way he connects, the way he teaches, and the way he truly advocates for each animal. He doesn't just train dogs--he changes lives. We have two Border Collies, the older boy took Venomous Snake Avoidance Class at another company. We later bought the second pup and we found Canine Moxy's snake class. A few months after the pup's training, he came into contact with our empty snake bucket that had previously only held nonvenomous snakes and he went ballistic! He scrambled too get away, but not without trying to take my husband with him. He positioned himself between the snake bucket and Greg and tried to push and pull him away from the snake. The Canine Moxy training worked extremely well. After that, we found a Venomous cottonmouth. While that snake was still in the bucket full of holes so the snake could be seen and smelled, our older dog walked up, sniffed the bucket, and walked off. Obviously his training (at the other company) didn't take, so we knew we needed to get him to Canine Moxy, too. Canine Moxy is the real deal!

If you're on the fence about trainers, this is the place to go. I have a 16 month old border collie. I panic signed up for classes after a reactivity incident with him at the vet. I saw a huge improvement after his first class and I'm excited to keep going. Kris is very knowledgeable and he explains how to understand my dog very well. This is the first time in a while that training hasn't felt frustrating.

I can’t recommend Kris at Canine Moxy enough! We have two large rescue dogs with their quirks, and we wish we would have gone to Kris way sooner. He’s incredibly knowledgeable and works with each dog as an individual—really getting to know them, loving them, and helping us read their unique signals so we can work through and overcome barriers. This is the first time I have done any training for my dog, Oreo. Though this was only the first session, Kris was able to provide me with so much information and details about dog behavior that I never thought I needed to know. He was also very patient with Oreo. I will definitely be scheduling more sessions with him!
