Lingua Verna has been amazing for learning Arabic as someone who didn't know any beforehand. They have great structure and teaching methods which reinforce fluidity overtime. The instructors here really care about you and are truly passionate about the language. I would recommend this to anyone looking to learn Levantine Arabic from scratch or build up on slight knowledge from speaking with family members.

I started with Lingua Verna after trying different apps and classes of arabic that never really applied to what my Syrian partner and his family were speaking, which was quite frustrating. It's been fantastic learning levantine Arabic and actually be able to use it/understand people around me right away. The structure of the class is really great, with time to absorb information, practice speaking, ask questions as they emerge. I really appreciate the visual aspect of the learning materials provided. I also love that although people come with different levels of exposure to arabic, everything is fully explained (I've been in intro classes before where I felt completely left behind as the class was adapted to people with previous arabic knowledge while i was struggling with the alphabet!) In the convo groups, the profs will also adapt to people's level of capacity, which is great ! I like hearing where I could (will) be with a bit more practice 😉

I grew up around Arabic, specifically Lebanese dialect, and understood way more than I could speak. Lot’s of other Arabic courses or Apps I tried teach formal Arabic, which was not really relevant to me. I’m so grateful that I found this Lingua Verna course! The teachers and other students make for a really comfortable and fun learning environment. The course is smartly structured, but also flexible. I’m held accountable for doing the work, which I need! I’m in Level 2 now and can read, write and say essential things. I highly recommend Lingua Verna. It’s been the push I needed to finally learn this beautiful language that is so central to my life.
